Make The Most Of Your iPhone With Some Great Apps
iPhone has been a revolutionary electronic device for many reasons, not least of which is the fact that for the first time the majority of cell phone users were actually using non-phone related applications on a regular basis. These apps have become one of the main driving forces behind the iPhone adoption and have greatly contributed to its popularity. As of this writing there is over 100,000 of these apps available thought iTunes, which makes it increasingly difficult for users to find the ones that will best suite their needs. This short and colorful guide aims to introduce some of the best of these apps and give an honest in-depth review of their main features. The guide is up to date with the latest editions of the apps. All apps are presented with a short yet informative description and a screenshot that gives one a rough idea of what the app looks like. I have already been familiar with some of the apps that are presented in here, but the vast majority were new to...

Nice, handy selection guide to Apps
You've got an iPhone or iPod Touch and you know Apple's App Store has about 300,000 and counting apps for downloading. You know you can't fit that many on your machine, nor do you want to. What to do? How to choose? Well, you can browse the App Store and serendipitously find gems. You can review the "New Releases," "Featured," and Genius Recommendations, provided by the Store itself. You can ask friends for recommendations or use the apps "AppMiner" and "Appsaurus" where you can filter the App Store database by key word searches. One of the better ways is to consult "Best iPhone Apps, Second Edition," by J. D. Biersdorfer. She is the author of several books, including "iPod, the Missing Manual," and "iPad, the Missing Manual," as well as being a tech columnist for the New York Times. She has tested and reviewed hundreds of apps and distilled them down to a top 200 or so and categorized them, basing her selections on value, ease of use, professional reviews, user...

A quick read
I have an iPod Touch, and I love it, even if it does tend to need to be recharged every day or two. While I don't spend that much time listening to music, I can easily spend a few hours immersed in whichever game currently holds my attention.Of course, with a quarter million options available in the app store, it can be difficult to find the best ones! That's why I was interested to read O'Reilly's new book: over two hundred pages of nothing but apps! While some of them are iPhone-only, I figured I'd find enough interesting apps to make it worth a read.Well...a flip-though, anyway. This isn't really the type of book you read so much as one that you page through to see what catches your attention. Each page highlights one app, in full color, and tells you what the author liked about it. Apps are divided into high-level categories - work, on the town, leisure, play, etc, with search category being divided into various topics - apps to get things done, to make...
