You Might Need This If You Plan to Buy Any Of the Newest 2011 Kindles Except the Fire!
The newly announced $79 Kindle, the Kindle Touch Wi-Fi and Kindle Touch 3G come with an included USB 2.0 cable that you can use to charge your device by connecting it to a computer. But the specs also say:"U.S. POWER ADAPTER SOLD SEPARATELY"So you are going to need one of these if you ordered one of these Kindles and want to wall charge it. I guess that's why they are 50% off. Amazon is trying to take some of the sting out of the deal for when everyone finds out that they need an adapter to plug/charge it in a wall outlet. In the past all Kindles came with the adapter included in the purchase price. Welcome to the new AMAZON! Stamp on an Amazon logo
I received the USB charger in a plastic bag in an padded envelope from UPS. It's a tad bit expensive for a regular USB charger. Hopefully, it's for the quality, not for the Amazon logo. I bought it for the Kindle Touch, which ironically will still not be here for another 2 months.For those of you wondering, the charger has an input of 100-240V-0.15A 50/60 Hz and output of 5.0 V and .85A, so it should work for the foreign outlets that have different voltages. Also, it charges my iPod Touch, so I assume that it can work for most consumer products that need to be charged by the USB. In addition, this is small enough that it can fit with one slot in a surge protector.Edit:Forget to mention that it's made in China.

**UPDATED**Would not consider anything other than Square Trade
****Update 04/11/12****As my initial review was written based on my experience with SquareTrade on items other than the Kindle Fire (which had not even been released at that time) I wanted to update with info relating specifically to the Fire warranty service.I have had to contact Square Trade because of an issue with one of my Kindle Fires and I mistakenly called the usual general warranty claim telephone number on the SquareTrade website. SquareTrade has a designated Kindle Fire specific warranty claim number which is listed on the warranty confirmation email customers receive after purchasing the Fire's warranty. It is 1-866-374-9939. Once I was connected to the right person (this was all in one phone call in less than five minutes) my issue was handled quickly, with no fuss, I did not have to provide any additional information and I had a replacement Kindle in less than 48 hours at no charge to me.Another reviewer had mentioned concern at the...

Exactly as advertised!!
Square trade warranties are exactly as advertised. After almost two years of abuse on my 2nd Generation Kindle, I finally broke the screen. I am a Soldier and my Kindle goes with me everywhere, Iraq and Afghanistan included. I called Amazon (from Afghanistan!) and was directed to the Kindle warranty department. In less than 5 minutes, I had a new kindle on the way to my house, and a shipping label to return my broken one at no charge. I was very impressed at how easy it was. I just purchased the Kindle fire and didn't hesitate for a second to get the additional warrantly offered by Square Trade. Keep up the great work.

Accurately Described (Mostly), But Beware Customer Service
As with all warranties, make sure that you read the fine print as soon as you get it. If you don't think it's worth it, cancel it. You can cancel this warranty in the first 90 days for a full refund (provided you haven't made any claims). You can also cancel any time after that and get a pro-rated refund based on how much time is left in your coverage period. This seems generous, so I'll give them kudos.It will cover your "oopsies"... but only the main ones: like if you drop it, step on it, or drop it in the pool/bathtub/sink/toilet. So that last one probably isn't common (I hope), but you get where I'm going with the dropping-in-water concept.Since you can't see much else besides what they write on this page, I'll highlight a few points that you might want to consider. My Mom LOVES this pendant and necklace!
I bought this for my Mom for Mother's Day. She lives 700 miles away and so I had to trust the reviews and hope she liked it. SHE LOVES IT! She called me when she received the package completely estatic! She still proudly wears my gift. I kinda felt ashamed for buying my Mom a cheap gift but times were hard and money was tight.
