Don't think about this one just buy it
The C-Star linear pull brake on the rear of my new Schwinn had a problem with a weak spring essentially not allowing the brake to be centered, instead of dealing with pacific cycle and probably having to send the bike back or at least the component back I ordered this. Out of the box you feel the difference in terms of quality construction and finish, additionally the design of the spring system makes so much more sense, allowing you to easily release tension without having a spring jam into your fingertip is definitely a plus. They came out of the box ready to go already balanced with plenty of spring tension and fit my relatively narrow aero rims (Tire size is 700*38c but I could easily get a 700*32c on) the pads are slightly thin but they have a large surface area and don't deflect as much as regular pads thus limiting mushy braking. The only issue was the noodle sleeve (e.g. round hollow thing that attaches to the plastic coming from the frame tube (tough to explain) was too...

Foolishly inexpensive, yet well-made and work great.
These brakes are suspiciously inexpensive but I had no problems with them. They do what V-brakes are supposed to do.

Easy to install and works great.
I wrote a review on the front brake. Product is great, but comes set up with the wide spacers. I switched to the narrow spacers and it worked great. On another note, I bought the matching front and back brakes, and I could not tell the difference between them.

Perfect Product At A Reasonable Price
This single brake is a solid deal at around $10, and was easy to install and use. I use mine on an Adams Trail a Bike, where my bicycle pulls my kid on a bicycle trailer. With my weight, my bike, and her weight and her bike, I needed more braking power down hills into stop signs. By putting a brake on her trailer, she now can both pedal her own weight, and brake it.There are not 3, as in the picture, but one.The sizes, which the description fails to mention, are as follows:- I put mine on a kid's 20 x 2.0 back tire. Fits easy.- I measured the distance from the center mounting pin to the long sliding hole mount for the brake pad, it ranges from 3" - 3 3/4.- The shielded cable run jacket is 43" and the brake cable extends about another 4" beyond.- The handle lever portion is smallish, a three finger brake for an adult, or normal for a child.People have noted that the instructions are poor. I agree. But not much instruction...

Very satisfied
Amazon shipped the product very quickly, package arrived in great conditions. These are for my 2007 Honda Accord rear disc brakes, replacing the original pads. So far very satisfied with these pads. Very quiet, no to no dust, leaving my alloy wheel shiny and clean. Stopping power is great, no fading, I even want to say its stopping power is a little bit better than the original Honda pads. Really like these ThermoQuiet QC series pads, would definitely use them for my other car as well.

Quality pads at reasonable price
Threw these on my 2006 Honda Accord. Fit perfect, very quiet and smooth. Did not come with shims or grease, instructions say to to use any. I still greased up the backs. So far so good, I'll post again in a month or two.

Happy with these for my 2004 V6 Accord
It looks like these rear pads fit a variety of cars. I installed them on my 2004 V6 Accord, and they're fine. The cast metal portion that the pads are mounted to are a little wide, so it took some work to get a couple of them in but they do fit.The rear factory pads on my Accord wore out in less than 30K miles, and that surprised me. At that time, I swapped out all of the brake pads on the car and I went with cermaics because they don't leave black dust on the alloy wheels. I purchased that first set of ceramics from a national automotive chain store, and I was happy enough with them. It turns out that that first set doesn't have a lifetime replacement warranty, so I'm trying out the Wagner version this time around. The impression I have from reviews on the Web are that Wagner pads are far better than the ceramics that I previously had on the car, and the Wagner pads are also less expensive through Amazon. The Wagner pads have a nice finish and build quality...

Good stuff, cheap price, makes for decent upgrade for most off the shelf bikes.
I own high end components (like Campy and Zero G) and obviously this isn't high end.But it's good bang for your buck and a decent upgrade for most sub-700 dollar off the shelf bikes out there. When my wife's Townie showed up with flimsy no-name brakes that appear to be made from something resembling compressed aluminum shavings... I popped a pair of these on.Night and day in terms of performance (you can tell the difference in quality just holding them in your hands compared with the no name junk).Nice!

Fantastic brakes for the money
I bought these to replace 25 year old cantilevers on an old mountain bike that I love and see no reason to replace, especially with these new brakes.I have a birth defect where I have no right hand. My old brakes, using just the front brake, felt as if they simply slowed me down no matter how hard I squeezed. I found a brake lever that would pull 2 cables simultaneously that was made for linear pull brakes, and I figured I'd give them a try. The other reviews were great and these brakes seemed like a good buy. Boy are they!I also got a set of Jagwire brake cables to complete the set, because my old cables were not compatible with the brakes, and were old and had a lot of friction. What a difference! I can now lock up BOTH wheels in the grass with...

way better than my old cantilevers
I was fed up with my cantilever brakes on some old bike I bought. Then I decided that V brakes would be the logical upgrade. Paired with the Avid FR-5 Single Lever, these brakes work great. It was my first time installing brakes by myself, but I learned a lot in the process. These brakes come with so many adjustments. There's pad spacing, spring tension, pad angle, and more adjustments using the pinch bolt on the brake and the barrel adjuster on the brake lever. Before you install these, make sure that the wheel is installed straight into the fork/dropout. You will have to get & cut your own cable/housing, since this does not come with any. All the adjustments are done with an allen wrench (don't know the exact size) or a small phillips screwdriver. This brake comes with two noodles. One makes a 90 degree bend and is for front brakes; the other makes an acute bend and is for rear brakes. The brakes make a squeaking noise towards the end of a stop (when pads touch the rim with force),...

Better Than Previous Book
This review is going to be short. First I am a life time student of the trade. I am always trying to learn as much as I can to make myself a better tech. This edition of the Brake manual is excellent and informative. The illustrations are quite detailed and indepth with easier understanding of its subject matter. Excellent text and the layout of the manual walks you thru for a better understanding of this subject.Every chapter has ASE style questions which give you a good review of the content you have read.I like the book and rate it high for content and illustrations of the Automotive Brake Systems.

They work great
These are great brake cables, they're 1 cable and housing per package. The cable has a barrel connector on one end and a plug connector on the other end. And these cables are just as smooth as you could want.

Inline Universal Brake Cable
These cables and covers are very reasonably priced. Much cheaper than my local Bike Shop (same cables). Delivery was very quick for "standard shipping". Just make sure you are cutting off the correct end.I cut the cover down to the correct length with a thin drill mounted metal cutting blade.I would recommend the crimp-on tips for the cut end of the cable. You will want to install them after the cable is installed and excess cable has been cut-off.

Cheap set of cables that get the job done
Just looking to replace some brake cables and/or housing on your bike. This is exactly what you need. Now I know it's not compressionless housing so you might feel a bit of flex when you really hammer down on them, but if you're not riding off road that is not going to matter. This set is perfect for replacing one line; you will need to get two for both brakes. And there is enough housing and cable for any bike. I think it's almost 5 and a half feet of it so you won't run out.Granted it's not the highest quality stuff, but I don't think it will need replacing for a few years, and at this price who could complain. Install it and forget it.

several main concerns - need brakes to stop the Q7. would not like to change pads after another 10K and do not like squeaky brakes. Rotors were not changed last time the brake job was done, so, I am going to need to buy the whole set - rotors, pads and sensors.

When it comes to brakes for your mountain bike, there are two primary options, V or rim brakes and disc brakes. t get affected by muddy or wet conditions the same way rim brakes do. So now the question is where can you get good quality brakes for less. Brakes do wear out and when it comes to rim brakes typically all you have to do is replace the pads and maybe adjust the cable and your set to go again. The thing is when it comes to looking for cheap bike parts is it worth the risk when it comes to brakes. There is never a reason to buy cheap quality anything in my book but I understand that even when it comes to good quality parts there are different qualities. When it comes to riding your bike probably the most important piece of equipment besides you using your brain is your brakes as far as safety is concerned. So if you really need to be able to stop quickly then disc brakes are the ones you need. Here you will find online bike shops as well as auction sites and classified sites all of which you can shop and find good deals. I love the search for cheap bike parts that for me is part of the fun. When it comes to disc brakes there is a lot more involved but it is not that difficult but it will definitely cost more. You need and will use plenty of braking power on say a 5 mile long descent. I think it is important to support our local bike shops because most of them do a good job and are important to us. The problem is they don.

So forced to start from the back row as a penalty for missing the formation lap in tricky damp conditions I made a good start and rode strongly for the first couple of laps passing a huge amount of riders before an incident ahead of me meant the... Disaster struck and as we went into Clearways the leader crashed and all 3 of us lead riders behind him had to grab for the front break to avoid the sliding bike which resulted in all for 3 of us doing the same as the leader and tucking the front... Confident for race 2 with a genuine challenge for the win and starting from the front row calculated from our 1st race lap times I made a reasonable start in 5th passing someone for 4th on Cooper straight. Disappointingly but common in these situations the final result gets taken back a lap to the last full lap everybody completed leaving me 7th on the result sheet. My frustration showed as I put my head down do get a good lap in and jump to 2nd on the grid despite having to make a couple of hard passes on that lap. I held 2nd until the last 30 seconds when a group of 3 front running riders used me a tow and just piped my time leaving me 5th on the grid for the Sunday race. Confidence building with my front running pace I was disappointed to find I had missed the formation laps for the Sunday race which started a few minutes earlier than scheduled. I settled in to the Ducati well, my confidence was growing with every session on her and what a great little race bike she is. I went to the first round on Easter weekend at Brands Hatch confident but nervous of how I would fair.
