No more creeping
I recently purchased a nice Karastan wool rug to put over my carpet in my living room. I have placed rugs over carpet before, and have used various types of pads - and, on occasion, no pad at all. This was the nicest rug I have purchased, therefore, I could justify paying a bit more for the pad.After doing quite a lot of research and reading, I decided to give this pad a shot. I wasn't particularly optimistic, since all the previous pads I had purchased had failed my expectations and I felt I had wasted my money. Today, I have absolutely NO idea where those pads are...I feel CERTAIN they went in the trash a long time ago.First, I was impressed with the quick delivery. From the time I received the confirmation that the item had shipped, it was on my doorstep within 12 hours! Way, way, WAY faster than I had expected. It arrived in a heavy plastic bag that was in perfect condition.I rolled it out and placed my rug. A LITTLE easier said than done...

Great for hardwood floors
After much online research & searching local stores, I bought this pad to protect newly installed hardwood floors. The effort was well worth it! It came quickly & was 1/2 the price a well known dept. store was charging for it! Following others' suggestions, I purchased a larger pad & cut it (with household scissors) to fit under several smaller area rugs. It keeps the rugs in place nicely even with an active dog & lots of foot traffic. Being somewhat paranoid about ruining my floors with the pad (read lots of horror stories about other types!), I've lifted the pads several times to check underneath...The floor still looks like new...No sticking...no marks...no discoloration. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

Wonderful pad, great customer satisfaction department
This pad is very "cushy" and absorbs sound very well, but when I rolled my 8X10 rug back over it, the pad was too short. It was labeled 8X10, but was about 8'2" X 9'. I had to trim the extra off the side, and just made sure the short end was where there is no traffic. I would have asked for a replacement, but I just didn't have the stamina to roll the rug back up and try to repackage the pad. If you get this pad, measure it when it arrives!UPDATE TO MY REVIEW: The supplier called me immediately after my review was submitted and offered a replacement pad free of charge. He even stayed on the phone while I measured my rug so I could give the exact measurements that I needed. He assured that this was a rarity for a wrong size pad to be sent out. I am now a very satisfied customer. Thanks, David, for making things right!

The Best Pad
This is definitly the best pad for hardwood or tile flooring. I have tried others and they were too thin or would slide. This pad stays where put & has a nice depth too it. It can make an indoor/outdoor rug feel more expensive.

Good Coice
I purchased ths pad to go under a thin oriental rug that was on top of wall to wall carpeting. The rug was puckering, moving and not laying flat. This pad solved the problem and also gave additional padding. I did have to trim it with utility knife to make it fit correctly but it was an easy job.

THis rug pad does its job, but it's exceptionally average. It's padded, it's lined with non-slip rubber, it does its job. However, it sheds quite a bit ever time its moved, which requires additional vacuuming. Also, the texture is really strange--sharp, thorn-like areas throughout the pad, so it's not necessarily child and snoopy-dog friendly.

Best underlayment I've used
I've installed laminate flooring four previous times -- all using the white styro-type underlayments. All were a pain to used and left undesirably noisy floors (this includes the expensive Roberts red roll with the white dots, which I found the worst of all).The felt roll was easy to roll AND IT ROLLED OUT FLAT. No wrinkling, made it much easier to install the laminate. The same roll of felt was sold at local Lowes for $50/roll, I bought it from Amazon for appx $30/roll (including shipping). Moreover, I ordered it on a Wednesday with the free shipping option, and it arrived on Saturday.

very thin film
Don't count the green plastic layer as your vapor barrier. It's very thin and easily tore. The felt is good, but the film is very very bad. If the manufacturer used better quality film, this underlayment would be one of the best, and I'd gladly to pay more to get it.Update: I bought 2 more rolls for another room installation. I compared the rolls from my first order with the second order's and found that:1- the felt from first order was softer and thinner than the second's.2 - the green plastic top from the first order was thinner than the second's.In summary, the underlayment from my second order had better quality. The felt felt solid and the vapor barrier top felt thicker.Other thought: The manufacturer should control their product's quality better.

Fantastic rug pad
My wife and I recently bought a very nice wool rug for our small, hard-wood floored home. It constantly slid around and that got old very quickly. Thankfully, my wife found this pad and all of our rug-sliding problems were henceforth solved. This pad is an excellent choice for anyone who is looking for a way to secure any sort of rug you may have to the floor, as well as provide a marginal amount of cushion and insulation to the rug as well, which are a couple of benefits I didn't expect beforehand. Hardwood floors can get so cold, it's nice to have a pad that helps to alleviate that problem a bit. There really isn't much more to say about the pad. The material and build-quality of the pad is very nice as well. Overall, a great purchase. I hope this review was helpful.

nice construction
The nonskid layer on the bottom of the pad is very handy. I had a piece of berber on the ceramic tile floor before I got this pad. The rug was slipping a lot. Now it doesn't budge. I have this in an irregularly shaped space, and it was easy enough to measure and cut. It's surprisingly thick but not squishy.
