Best Overall Keyboard to Date
As a software developer, I am literally attached to my keyboard. On a typical day, I'll spend anywhere between 5-8 hours typing, so it's of critical importance that the keyboard I use is comfortable. As most programmers and typists can attest, the Microsoft Ergo series of keyboards is the best keyboard for prolonged use.Having used the Ergo keyboards in some form or another for the past 4 years (most recently, the Wireless Elite set), I must say that this keyboard is a step above. To begin with, the construction is very solid. There is far less flex in the plastic and the keyboard as a whole compared to my Wireless Elite. The wrist pad is made of a nicely textured faux leather material with a tiny bit of padding. It feels rather durable (not to mention comfortable). It's a good addition as one of my main gripes with the MS ergo keyboards was that it was hard to fit one of those gel wrist rests around the curved base of the keyboard.Compared to...

I love this keyboard!
I'm one of the many who have been typing for years; from college where I earned money as a typist, to secretarial work, and now as a software engineer and a part-time writer, so needless to say that my keyboard is basically a constant companion. From years of typing I've come to learn my likes and dislikes of keyboards. I was one of those who ordered the very first Microsoft Ergonomic keyboard as soon as it came out, and I fell in love with it. After seven years, my faithful keyboard finally gave up the ghost and so I was forced to purchase another.I was at first lured to purchase a different brand name ergonomic keyboard because it was cheaper, and boy did I regret that decision. Some of the keys were moved from their standard positions, the ENTER key was much larger, which meant the SHIFT key was smaller and the back slash key was moved to the last row. The spacing between the number keys was wider so I had to readjust my reach, and, to make things worse, the...

Very happy with the keyboard
I just picked this up this afternoon and have been very pleased with it so far. I used it to replace a Microsoft Natural Elite keyboard. The wrist/palm rests feel very nice, and I like the fact that the keys are quiet - I'm trying to train myself to take notes while on the phone using the computer instead of using a pad of paper, and I find that loud typing while I'm talking on the phone can interfere with my hearing the other person, and with their perception of my attention. The software does seem relatively Spartan but to be honest I'm not a big user of customization features, so it doesn't impact my use of the device. In the past, I haven't even bothered to install keyboard driver software. The zoom feature works nicely in Firefox, I don't use IE much. So, for my use - standard typing for many hours/day, minimal use of special features - it's a great keyboard. I'm glad it's got the older-style cursor key/insert-delete-scroll key setup, rather than the setup used on the...

Simple install and good
These stickers took a while to install but it was easy to do. I missed up on 2 keys and realized it 5 minutes later but they easily came off and it was possible to reinstall them; they now have some gray places though. I washed my keyboard before installing this. Right after the installation all of them had spots of gray but after a few hours they all turned mostly transparent expect for the 2 letters I missed up on. They also fit my Dell Inspiron keyboard perfectly with gaps for the G and J keys marks and you get used to the feeling quickly. This is a really good product and I would recommend this for anyone that wants to learn the dvorak keyboard for a cheap price. The only concern is if the letters on your keys aren't printed on the upper left hand corner of your keys, because then the letters on the stickers will cover them. But then again we all can probably touch type qwerty already.

Dvorak keyboard stickers
There is not much choice out there for Dvorak converts, so I was glad to find a more sensibly priced sticker set. It fits perfectly on my Dell keyboard, blue characters look good and make it easy to distinguish from the QWERTY designations. The only hiccup is the surface of the sticker: fingers feel a bit slippery on it. The plastic of the keys (on my keyboard at least) has a better feel. But this is just a matter of getting used to.

Worked well
They worked well and helped me learn Dvorak, but some of the placements of the letters required that I cut them so they don't cover some existing letters on my lenovo W500 keyboard but still worked well.

Product Description

The Dvorak layout is spread onto transparent - matt sticker, with blue color. Dvorak studied letter frequencies and the physiology of people's hands and created a layout to adhere to these principles: ? It is easier to type letters alternating between hands. ? For maximum speed and efficiency, the most common letters and digraphs should be the easiest to type. This means that they should be on the home row, which is where the fingers rest, and under the strongest fingers. ? Likewise, the least common letters should be on the bottom row, which is the hardest row to reach. ? The right hand should do more of the typing, because most people are right-handed. ? It is more difficult to type digraphs with adjacent fingers than non-adjacent fingers. ? Stroking should generally move from the edges of the board to the middle. An observation of this principle is that, for many people, when tapping fingers on a table, it is easier going from little finger to index than vice versa. This motion on a keyboard is called inboard stroke flow. The Dvorak keyboard layout became easier to access in the computer age. Currently, all major Operating Systems (such as Apple OS X, Microsoft Windows, GNU/Linux and BSD) ship with Dvorak keyboard layout in addition to the standard QWERTY layout. So far, DSK has failed to displace the QWERTY standard. Clear transparent background makes stickers invisible, and allows existing characters to show through. Prefect
As reviewer PiTav noted, this is an excellent product, but may feel "cluttered" for learners, hence PiTav's 4 stars.I've been typing Dvorak almost exclusively since 1990. This keyboard cover is perfect for a Dvorak pro and also for technical professionals who occasionally have to drop back to QWERTY for typing on remote systems, etc. The QWERTY hints in the lower-left corner of each key are incredibly helpful here. This way I can see which QWERTY keys I'm typing without having to remove the cover itself. The cover itself is elegant and perfectly compliments the MacBook Pro. The only drawback here is that the lighted keys are obscured, but I can't fault them for that because I see no way around it.

It works...
I got this keyboard to learn how to type on a dvorak keyboard. I've tried just changing the settings on my computer before, but it just confuses me because the letters don't match the input. My main complaints about the keyboard are that it's a little cluttered and difficult to see what letter you are typing: The keyboard has the dvorak layout, but it also has the qwerty layout in the lower lefthand corner. To me, this clutters the keys, and makes it difficult to find the right dvorak letter. The punctuation keys are particularly bad: on the qwerty "q" key for example, it has three symbols: the letter q, and a double and single quote. I understand this might be helpful to people, but my preference would be not to have it.I also would have liked the key cover to fit a little better. I'm not sure how it compares to other silicone covers; maybe they are all like this, but it would be nice if it fit to the keys a little more tightly. It also tends to curl up (rather than lying...

Nice keyboard for the price
Let's talk about the features Microsoft advertises on its product tour mini site.Great comfort: It's generally more comfort than a traditional keyboard once you get used to the curved layout and thin profile keys. Don't forget to spread out your arms. Other than the surprisingly low cost (for a ergonomic keyboard), I bought it for another reason - good spacebar design. (Well, the spacebar on my copy of the keyboard has a problem that I'll discuss in a moment) I do touch typing and almost always use right thumb for space key. Spacebar on a traditional keyboard has sharp edge towards your thumb pad. Just put your thumb on a spacebar and you know what I'm saying here. The spacebar and all other keys on this row of the comfort curve keyboard have been tilted towards the user and have reduced thickness at the bottom so the thumb touches the flat (slightly curved) surface of the keys. Some traditional keyboards now have similar design but cost more and they are hard to...

good inexpensive upgrade
For under 20 bucks, this keyboard is a very nice upgrade to the heavily value-engineered keyboard that comes with most computers. (In my case a Dell Quiet-key. It's actually a bit better than most stock keyboards, but still has shortcomings which I won't get into since this is a review of the Microsoft product).Pros:o keys have a nice "feel". Light touch, low travel, quiet.o although this is an ergonomic keyboard, the differences in layout and spacing are minor and easy to adjust to, yet they still offer an improvement in typing comfort.o nice spacebar, slightly deeper than standard keyboards, is easy to reach.o reasonable price for a this quality of keyboard.Cons:o size: the width is identical to my Dell Quietkey, depth is about 1 inch greater, to accomodate the extra browser-specific buttons which I don't use. If the extra buttons were generic and user programmable this item would be in the Pros...

Comfort Curve 2000 and the Mac mini
I am currently using this keyboard on my Mac mini (Intel-based). You can download the latest Intellitype software which is a Universal binary. The keys are programmable using the software (which appears in System Preferences). The feel of the keyboard is soft to the touch. The curved design does help in making typing easier (there's less strain on the wrists). So far, this keyboard is worth it for less than $20. It works with the Mac mini too.

Best ergonomic keyboard on the planet, for a price
As someone who learned to type on a Smith Corona typewriter and spent nearly a decade in IT, I have used many keyboards. Whenever I begin a new job, I ditch the keyboard and mouse that's provided for me and replace it with my Kinesis contoured keyboard and Kensington trackball. I just hope motherboards continue to support PS/2 inputs a little while longer cuz that's how old my Kinesis is.It took me about 2 weeks to get fully adjusted to using the Kinesis, but if you are patient, it will not only pay off with better ergonomics, but speed. I can probably type 5-10WPM faster with the Kinesis than with any other keyboard. Co-workers walking by my desk always thought I'd been over-caffeinated because of how fast I was typing. My only caution to you is if you have root privileges and are learning on a Unix or Linux system. Watch those typos! The only bummer about my version is that it's not USB and doesn't have a Windows key. I personally don't use the macro's but it's...

Good stuff!
If you are even considering this, you more than likely have RSI/Carpal Tunnel/etc. I have owned Kinesis contoured keyboards for over ten years now, they are simply wonderful. I had severe RSI for a couple of years and I was forced to seek medical attention, they wanted to operate, I didn't. Besides I had just graduated and couldn't afford to take time off or the cost of the operation. So I took the weekends off, did a little less typing and took over the counter ibuprofen. That was also the time that I discovered the Kinesis products. It took about two weeks to adjust to the new keyboard, although going back to a regular keyboard was no problem for me. I also learned the Dvorak keyboard, but it was too hard to switch back to a regular QWERTY keyboard. For me as a consultant/contractor, I often need to work at client sites and needed to be able to use a QWERTY keyboard, so I abandoned Dvorak. I tend to work twelve hour days so there were times when I did have soreness and...

Good for typists, maybe not for developers or power users
When doing normal typing, I found the Kinesis Advantage to be very comfortable and ergonomic. However, there were issues in performing certain tasks on this keyboard.I am a software developer and frequently use the arrow keys to move around. However, the arrow keys on this keyboard are located way off to the bottom of the main key section in a position very difficult to reach with my fingers. Moreover, the arrow keys are split between the left and right handed keys. The left/right keys are on the left-hand side and the up/down keys are on the right-hand side. This orientation is VERY difficult to use and not suited for certain repetitive tasks I often perform. However, I was able to get around this problem by purchasing a USB numeric keypad (http://www.amazon.com/IBM-Numeric-Keypad-Thinkpad-USB/dp/B00004Z7F0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1222551284&sr=1-1), which can also be used for its arrow keys.A similar issue for me is the location of the...

On to the review… Their’s not much to review on this keyboard as it’s not a meant for “ gaming “, but what makes this Keyboard “ really ” unique is that it’s in DVORAK format and switchable to QWERTY. It has 70% of the most commonly used letters positioned in the home row ( middle of keyboard ).  . The world record for fastest typing was set using a Dvorak keyboard. In order to avoid this problem, Sholes re-arranged his keyboard so that common combinations of letters were hard to type, thus making the keyboard slower and reducing the chance of jamming. Dvorak is a keyboard layout that is more efficient , faster , and more comfortable than the standard QWERTY layout. Also, if your a neat freak like me, this keyboard has a built-in USB hub which lets you connect your mouse or trackball directly to the keyboard.  Alternative keyboard layouts, including Dvorak and Maltron , challenge the aging QWERTY interface by moving letters around in a way that requires less motion and strain to form otherwise simple and common words. R was moved for this reason, and replaced the period on the left of the T. That is why, if you look at your keyboard, you will see that commonly typed pairs of letters are well spaced out, and that the word “ typewriter ” can be typed using just... For many users, QWERTY is the only keyboard layout they know.

Dvorak keyboard or Dvorak layout claim the Dvorak layout uses less finger motion, increases typing rate, and reduces errors compared to the standard QWERTY keyboard.
