My hair has never been more beautiful
The first time I used just the Nupur powder and loved the shine and softness, but I had wanted my hair a little darker brown, not as coppery. (My hair is normally medium brown - the copper was lovely, I just wanted it darker and richer looking and not so red.) So I added indigo powder and a few other things and WOW! My hair is so shiny, soft, pretty, rich looking and feeling now. I am 42 and have done everything to my hair (can't do the chemicals anymore as even the "natural" hair dyes make my scalp blister :-() and I have NEVER been happier with the color or texture of my hair than I am after using this product. Just what I was looking for - A conditioning henna treatment made simple.
I LOVE THIS FORMULA!!!I henna'd for the first time last weekend. I LOVED IT!!!! I was hesitant to henna because I heard stories about it making your hair bright red or loosening your curl pattern. I don't want that at all. It did darken my hair to a very soft black. My hair is naturally dark brown. This henna made my curls soooooo soft and strong! It may have made my strands thicker, I can't really tell. But I do know that I am beyond satisfied with the results. This formula is very conditioning and seems to fortify your hair with nutrients. My hair was really shiny without any type of oil. It also really soothed my itchy scalp.I add water to the powder and let it sit for about 4-5 hours in a plastic bowl. Great product for getting healthier hair
I used to dye my partially gray hair with commercial dye and it starting getting really thin, so I gave henna a try. I have used the Light Mountain brand and this one. Both worked quite well at getting the gray out, and my hair seems thicker already. Since this particular brand does not include any instructions and doesn't come with gloves or a cap (the reason for only 4 stars), I'm including my advice from the other brands:-Do not use any metal when mixing or dyeing, and be sure to remove jewelry.-Mix whole package with 2 cups hot water, or 1 cup hot water and 1 cup hot black coffee (I do this to avoid orange tones).-Let mixture sit in bowl for 2-3 hours.-Shampoo your hair, do not condition. Towel dry.-Apply henna to hair with gloves on, put plastic cap over hair to stop any drips, and blow dry cap intermittently.-Rinse henna out completely after 3-4 hours. A change of heart
First of all I have to say, I am so glad I never went out and got a permanent tattoo. After about two days of having the henna designs on my forearm, I was bored of it. But I don't blame the henna for that.Anyways, onto the product. I was very happy with it. I followed the instructions book (yes, it is included, for the person who gave this one star and said it didn't come with any), and then let it sit for the suggested 6 hours. I applied it, and so on. Once it's applied, it says to leave it on for about 6 hours. The book says it's similar to toothpaste, in consistency, and they're right. After I applied it, it hardens and breaks up into smaller sections. However, it said to leave it, so I did.But not for long enough. I left it on for about 5 hours (it became increasingly irritating not being able to do things with my left arm and hand for fear of smearing it), and then scratched as much as I could off. Wow!
I never thought I could actually do henna! This henna is amazing! It darkens to a mahogany brown in about a day, and is just beautiful! I am a professional henna artist and I swear by Jamila henna -- it's vacuum-packed for freshness and has a harvest date stamped on the bottom. Like any other plant product, henna can go stale and stop staining -- the window for freshness is about 2 years for body art and 6 years for your hair. Wonderful henna quickly shipped
This is the best quality henna I have ever bought. The fine powder was completely free of twiggy bits. My own preference is to mix it up with hot (not boiling) coffee and a tablespoon of vinegar, along with some cinnamon (for the scent). The consistency was just right for covering my hair with almost no spatter - only a little on the sink I was leaning over. I usually have to mop up floor and even walls after applying to my long hair, but this stayed put very well. The color was perfect.Other reviewers said that they had to sift the powder but that was not my experience at all. And personally, I have never had success with the "mix with lemon juice and leave overnight" method, not with any of the various hennas I have tried. I have finally stopped trying as it's a waste of henna in my experience. Very Conflicted
I received this henna VERY quickly and their customer service is always top notch. For these reasons Im very conflicted because the product itself is not very good.Let me preface this by saying that I am quite experienced with Henna products. I used it for years, took some time off and found that chemical dyes were destroying my hair and recently decided to return. Because funds a bit low I thought that this might be a better alternative to what I normally would get via hennaforhairdotcom. The dye release on this takes FOREVER. In fact I have yet to get a dye release when using my typically acidic (lemon juice and henna) mixture. The only way I was able to get a release was by using hot water and typically you do not want to use this mixture on body or hair because it fades to a dull orange rather than oxidizing and growing more vibrant over the coming days as it would with an acidic mixture. I ordered this product on September 1, 2010 and received this product by September 3, 20, so I was very pleased to get my product so soon. I'm a Black woman and have very thick hair and I've used henna years ago and it, stregthened my hair and made my hair very healthy and grew it out longer than it had been in a few years, so I knew what to expect from henna use, I was looking to try it again for the same purposes, this one was not as strong as the henna I had years ago because my hair is naturally black and was color treated and the natural hair colored section of my hair(new growth) didn't really change at all, but it covered my gray and the color treated section with use of chemical color was changed to a reddish aurburn color that is great for the fall and over the course of two hair washes it toned down quite a bit. I recently received this kit as a gift and let me tell you- it's great! The instructions are clear & easy to follow, all you have to do is mix the stuff then wait a few hours (I let it sit for 6 hours) and then you're all set to draw! Plus, if you're not the greatest artist in the world, this kit comes with cool designs that you can trace onto yourself. Keep in mind that the LONGER you let the Henna design dry on your skin, the DARKER it will turn out, and that removing it too early will result in a light orangeish color. A beginning henna-user
This kit comes with wonderful, easy-to-use stencils that include feminine, flowery armbands, tribal symbols, little butterflies and circular symbolic suns. These designs have something for everyone, but you can always make your own design with the henna, which is pretty easy to do with the metal applicator.My henna lasted very long, though it did fade eventually. My reccomendation would be to put your henna somewhere you can easily cover up, because when it starts getting lighter it can look from far away like you have some sort of rare skin disease or something.Make sure you do research about what henna is, because if you think this is just a temporary tattoo kit, you're wrong. It has much more depth than that, plus you'll be dissapointed if you're a fan of the bright, trashy biker tattoos you see at bars - because the ink here is a traditional brownish red.

Quality Product with Dark Staining!
I have tried several types of henna pastes and this product is of excellent quality. You will receive three pre-made henna cones. The cones are made of mylar paper (as shown in the picture) with paste already inside. The cones are ready to use the moment you receive them in the mail. The cone is closed with a pin, which is a useful tool during henna designing when the paste starts to build up. I have made henna designs on my hand and foot and the designs came out beautiful. The tip of the cone is fine, so you are able to make intricate designs. When the paste is left on the skin for the proper amount of time, the final design comes out dark and beautiful. I really do love this product and highly recommend it to any potential buyers.I am an intermediate henna artist. I'll be back for more
This is my first time to do Mehndi tattoos. I used these ready-made henna tubes last night on my daughters, and we had a blast. The cones are very nice to use, with tiny tips for perfect detailing. With minimal pressure, the henna flows from the tube evenly, giving great control, but with no drips or overflows. After the henna set up, we covered the hands with plastic wrap and left it on overnight. This morning, after scraping the henna away, the patterns are beautifully tattooed. The color is already fairly deep, and I am told it will darken even more. I did practice the designs on paper and did both girls' hands, and not even half of the first tube is gone, so this product goes a long way. This was an excellent product, and I will definitely buy this brand again.

Fabulous color developed, but it dries quickly so go fast!Easy to clean up and doesn't leave any residual color where you touch up (I just used a bobby pin or the tip of the cone to clean up any mistakes).Easy to use, so simple and clean; those detailed small lines are SO much easier to create. Takes a little practice to get the hang of it, but it is so much nicer and more authentic to use these vs. henna mix in a plastic tube with a metal tip.Make sure you squeeze out 1/4 inch worth of henna from the cone before you start; the stuff at the tip gets oxidized/clogged in travel. And have a tissue/hand/whatever at hand so you can clean the tip between details/lines.I've used these cones on my hands and feet, and I would recommend them to anyone!They come with pins in them like the other reviewer said; 2 of mine were missing pins, and they were a little battered in the box, but they came right on time.
