They Naysayers are Crazy
Okay,So I bought this product today (from Target, not from Amazon.com) and I want to begin by saying, undisputably, outstanding.I was hesitant to purchase this product because last year I made a huge mistake by buying Bissel's Flip It (electronic broom vacuum and mop).Before I begin my review of this product, let me begin with the Bissel equivalent. I bought the product because I'm 26 years old and was living in New Orleans in the French Quarter. I would have friends over all the time, and they'd track in the quarter filth all over the hardwood. I bought the Bissel because it seemed to make sense. It's an electronic broom vacuum on one side, then you flip the handle over to the other side and it becomes a wet map. It came with two attachable mop features, a non-moving brush and a small microfiber pad.The Bissel product was awful. It weighed about 20 pounds (much heavier than this product) and the vacuum wouldn't pick up anything, not the...

This Works!
Although I had a bit of trouble getting this machine as the first one sent was defective, the replacement arrived quickly. I have travertine tile (very textured) floors throughout my kitchen and family room and NOTHING has ever gotten them clean of the Georgia red clay where I live! I have tried everything from a steam-mop machine to hands-and-knees scrubbing. This machine WORKS! The only other time I've seen them this clean was after paying for commercial cleaning which was quite expensive. I'm glad I decided to go with a replacement after getting one that didn't work the first time. I definitely recommend! A white paper towel wiped across the floor stays white...amazing.

What a workout!
The machine does everything the ad says. I do want to tell you a little info on it (especially if you are out of shape or overweight) To me it felt heavier than 16 pounds before adding water. But not unreasonably. If you have stuck on food or gum or whatever.....the brushes with not scrub it away, so get this up beforehand. May be wise to alternate hands during use or you may get an ache in your waist. Practice makes perfect on getting tile floor surface to not look a little filmy. If you use the hoover floormate detergent the room will smell nice and fresh for awhile. The drying part of the routine takes excess water up but floor will still need a little time to finish drying. I plan to use my Floormate often and all in all am glad I bought it.

As Borat would say "very nice"
This thing is loud, but it works. If there's a weakness, it's that the dry vacuum doesn't seem to do too well. But that's what a good sweeping is for, isn't it? I have linoleum, and the H3044 did a fine job. The cleaning solution was pretty filthy when I poured it out after use, both satisfying and repulsive at the same time! It seems that this is a new Hoover model (July 2007), which explains why there are not a lot of reviews to be found online. I wish it could use Pine-Sol, because I have a Costco-sized jug of that stuff on hand already. Will vinegar/water mix work? I have no idea. I don't see why not. I guess the fear is that the gaskets will fail if solvents are used. Guess I'll stick to the Hoover stuff for now. Anyways, it scrubbed my floors quite well, even though they're a bit uneven/warped. The vacuum is great at picking the solution back up. Hope that helps.

Pros and Cons
I'm a bit torn on this product. There are things I really like and things that are a bit disappointing. I thought it might be easiest to list the plusses and the minuses separately...CONS:* In order to get our tile as clean as possible, it seems like I have to move the machine extremely slowly when both washing and wet vaccuming. I have a lot of ceramic tile in my home, so it is a big job. When I have the patience and time (which isn't often with two toddlers running around), the slow pace definitely gets my floors squeaky clean. Most days, however, I don't have that luxury. In fact, there are a lot of times when I resort back to my Swiffer mop just to get the mopping over with so I can get on to other tasks.* The little filter/screen in the dirty water tank seems to get clogged a bit sooner than I expected. When it's clogged, the wet vac function doesn't work as well. Once it's unclogged, though, it works great.* Unclogging the little...

I purchased my first FloorMate when it first came out, from the Hoover web site. It lasted me 10 years and then the hose that sucks up the water cracked. I was going to order the part and fix it, but when I saw this model I just had to have it.Like my first one it works great and is easier to clean then the first model. The idea of washing the floor with clean water and not having to keep passing a dirty mop over my floors is a wonderful concept for me. It does get the floor clean and dry with a little push and pull and with the new attachments there's nowhere it can't go.To sum it up works great, cleans great and I wouldn't be without it.

Just Wonderful
I read reviews before I purchased, and I wanted so desperately to find a tool to help clean I decided to ingore the bad comments and purchase it. Well......I was a cleaning fool the day I received it. I thought I had fairly clean floors because every few weeks I get out the scrub brush and give the tile a good cleaning and keep it clean in between heavy scrubbings. Or so I thought. I use vinegar and a scrub brush to clean the grout. This unit is great and the house smells so clean afterwards. You can walk across the floors and they are spotless. The water was black when I emptied it which was a real shocker. I highly recommend this unit. I purchased the one with the tools, but was having so much fun with the scrubber, I haven't tried them yet.

Really Like it...
Customer Video Review Length:: 2:01 MinsDoes a good job, doesn't leave the dirty streaks that my other mop did-the kind that you buy replacement pads and solution for- My floor just looks cleaner to begin with now that I'm using this machine. The dry feature even works well. The vacuum feature is not very good though. I usually sweep first or use the Floormate vac setting only if there is not anything too large to pick up. It works better than I expected it too. My only regret is that I bought the version with the tools. There is vcirtually no suction with the small power head and it is not worth the effort to attatch it only to have to go over the area with something to dry it anyway. The grout tool is not any better, actually it's worse-suction-wise, though it does have stiffer bristles. The bag they give you for the tools is nice though....not $40.00 nice however. I have no regrets about buying the Floormate, if I were to do it again, I would just not buy the tools. I thought I would regret not...

Good cleaner
This is a good cleaner with a nice scent. I use it on my ceramic tile floors in the kitchen and breakfast eating area. It worked fine and most importantly did NOT leave a sticky or slippery residue which is very important to my wife who goes barefoot. Thanks.

Terrific Product
I was not able to find this product at any of the stores so I contacted Hoover. That is when they told me that they changed the product name from Floor to Floor to Multi-Floor Detergent.There was a slight odor to it but I did not find it offensive. The odor went away after the floor dried. The floors came up nice & clean but I chose to put wax over top since it is a high traffic area.I had purchased from Amazon.com to help me from having to run around all over again searching for this cleaner. If I am unable to find this product locally I will purchase again from Amazon. I am very happy with my purchases from Amazon.com.

Strong Solution
Unless you just took a motor cycle apart in your kitchen, think about duluting the liquid to about 50% strength of what they suggest. Good stuff, just strong. Worked well on my grout without much special treatment.
