Best coffeemaker I've ever owned.
I was a little concerned about opening up shop away from home, 3 states away, and having to leave my tried and true Krups Pro Aroma behind. Granted, its an 8 year old model, but it made a great cup of coffee, and I had mastered the fairly simple interface for programming and setup.In my search, I read a LOT of negative reviews about the new Krups product family. Really not a surprise cause even the Pro Aroma had its many quirks, but still.....the coffee. So, after reading a bunch of bad reviews on Braun, Mr Coffee, Cuisinart, and Krups coffeemakers, I figured $60 was worth the risk to plunk down on this model. My first impression when I opened the box was that the coffemaker was solid and well constructed, but that the carafe was too light and thinly formed. But after two weeks of use I really cant find anything to complain about.Yes, the carafe is very light, but I like it. And it pours well with no drips. I havent yet attempted to program the machine cause...

Almost perfect
Let me start by saying two things:1. I love coffee. Personally, not counting my wonderful wife and staff at the office, I drink at least two _pots_ of coffee per day. Yes, that is over 120 fluid ounces every day, seven days a week. Needless to say I was pleased with each of the new health benefits announced regarding excess coffee consumption!2. After researching reasonably priced, reliable coffee makers, we bought two of these Krups FME2-14 units: One to replace our aging Braun, and the other for our daughters' apartment. This review encompasses experiences from both households.There are many things to love about this coffeemaker, and a few (3) minor issues. I'll touch on the issues first: With typical German precision, the water reservoir is designed to hold 60 fluid ounces, or 12 5-ounce cups worth. Makes great coffee
This coffee maker makes great, hot coffee. It just brews it up right with no fuss. I have paired mine with a #4 Swiss Gold permanent filter and absolutely love it. This coffee maker does nothing but make good coffee. It doesn't tell time, it doesn't have any automatic functions, it doesn't have alternate settings - you just push the brew button and it brews great coffee every time.That said, there are a couple of small gripes that would not keep me from purchasing this product again. One is the price. It's a bit expensive compared to other coffee makers in its "class." For less money you can get a machine with all the afore-mentioned perks and frills. Can I guarantee you they will, quite simply, make coffee as good as this one? No, I cannot. You're obviously paying for the Krups name and for what is almost a piece of coffee making art or furniture - but it does what it should with no complications. Krups KT600 silver art
I love this coffee maker! It's been a long time since I had my 1st Krups, & their newer models didn't get the water as hot as this one older model,until now. This does the job, brews a great pot of coffee, keeps it hot for hrs & still tastes great. I'm very picky about my coffee. I'd gone to a french press because I couldn't get a decent pot in the electric drip(my old Krups went to my X). So now I have this model & love it. It's a very sleek design, simple on auto off once it's brewed,& the 10 cup karaf keeps it piping hot without that acidic taste u get when coffee stands warm. This size is good for 4 lg cups/mug. Great and great looking
This was the best looking coffee maker we could find, saw it, had to have it. This is my third Krups and it makes a great cup of coffee. Coffee stays super hot for at least 3 hours.Drawbacks: I think it pours a little slow and the markings on the side are a little hard to read. My husband thinks the requirements for descaling every forty runs is excessive.

From A Coffee Snobs Point of View, Krups FMF5 Is A New Best Friend
Krups FMF5-14 10-cup programmable coffee machine, black.I just don't understand all the negative reviews about this Krups Coffee Maker. Was there a plastic smell while brewing? Yes, but only the first time running only water through the machine & not at all since. Were there air bubbles in the gauge that tells you how many cups you are brewing? Again yes the first time I used it with water only. All I had to do is remove the plastic indicator, blow through it and presto no more bubbles. It really isn't rocket science.I am not a a light coffee drinker & I have about 3-4 mugs a day, my coffee is very important to me, so when I read all the negative reviews about this coffee maker I panicked. I went out and bought a Cussinart Thermal Coffee Maker instead, that was a mistake.I used to belong to the Gevalia Coffee Club & when I joined I got a free 12 cup non-thermal coffee maker. Krups FMF5-14 Thermal - Fast and Hot
This is my first Thermal Coffee Maker. I hate the burnt taste of old coffee but heard the thermal ones aren't hot or are slow or noisy. This one is outstanding. It is quiet, programmable and brews very quickly. Morning coffee is actually hot and fresh at lunch (I did NOT have to prewarm the pot - that would be hard the night before!). It is not too tall, easy to clean, and seems reasonably priced. The fill line is easy to see. You can fit a #4 golden filter easily. It is programmable for 1-3 cups, I bet they don't stay hot as long if not pre-warmed. It comes with an optional filter insert which we don't use since we have a Brita on our faucet. Only potential draw back is the 10 cup capacity (I had a 12 cup one before). Yeah, no more broken glas pots!

BEST Coffee EVER
If your favorite coffee at Starbucks is the Caramel Macchiato- then you will LOVE this coffee. The price is just over a buck a cup so it's still pricey by home coffee standards, but is such a savings compared to Starbucks prices. Side note- you don't have to follow the directions and make a tiny cup from these servings- I make my portions much larger and just stop the flow when the color runs opaque. Delicious!

Great Product
I live in a small town and we don't have a coffee shop. My husband gave me the dolce Gusto machine for Christmas and I bought The Latte Macchiato right after. They are all gone now! The tast and milk froth are just as good as a coffee shop latte for a fraction of the price and you can make one in less than a minute with pretty much no clean up since only water touches the unit and all of the brewing takes place in the capsule. I am very pleased with this product.

Good with and without the milk capsule
Wow, this one's a real winner. I don't usually like to add anything to my brewed beverages, so this morning in the ongoing taste tests I brewed the Latte Macchiato coffee capsule for 23 seconds and did not add milk. It was quite good, nice and dark and bitter. This afternoon I made one with the milk, and it's very nice. I thought perhaps Latte Macchiato had sugar in the capsule, but it doesn't. I like this one a lot.
