Great Company with a Big Bang for your Buck product
I own a computer that utilizes Windows Vista (64 bit) and was not having success installing wireless adapters from two reputable companies. At this point I was ready to cut open walls and run the ethernet cable to my computer. I mentioned the problem to my computer geek cousin and he told me to purchase a medialink wireless adapter as it supports Windows Vista 32 and 64. So I googled the wireless adapter and found that Amazon carried it. So I went to Amazon.com and there it was in the medialink adapter's product information, compatible with Vista 32 and 64. At $29.99 ( $10.00 cheaper then the previous two adapters), I thought it was worth the risk. I recieved it two days later and proceeded to install the medialink wireless G USB adapter and again no success. At this point I'm ready to punch a hole in the wall out of frustration. I finally decided to contact Mediabridge to convey my dissatisfaction. The phone was picked up after one ring and a customer service person rerouted me to...

Compatible with WD TV Live
I purchased this adapter with high hopes that it would somehow magically work with my , despite my knowing that it was an unrealistic expectation since the dongle comes with it's own drivers. At best, I was expecting to have to run some home-brewed firmware on the WD TV in order to get this to work.Lo and behold, I plugged it in and it was recognized within seconds. In under a minute, the box was connected to my network and I was streaming YouTube video to my upstairs bedroom. I was absolutely amazed. This dongle is not yet listed on WD TV Live's supported device list, and I've found no previous posts or reviews confirming this compatibility. Hope this helps those looking at this for the same reason that I was.

A rare find - a multi-OS Wireless N adapter!
I recently added Mac OS X to my Windows Dell Mini 9. I had replaced the WiFi card in the Mini with an Intel 5300 which is great, but there's no Mac OS support. So I was on the lookout for an inexpensive USB adapter that supported OS X and Windows - if it was wireless N also, that would be a bonus. A couple of weeks ago when I started this search, I came up empty, but this time I found the Medialink adapter, which claimed to support Windows, OS X and Linux. I decided to give it a try. When I received it I was upset to see that the packaging claimed support for Windows only, and the Medialink web site has only Windows drivers. But the instruction leaflet says that OS X and Linux drivers are on the CD and sure enough, they are.Medialink claims that this is one of the smallest Wireless N USB adapters and I believe them - it's half the size of an Actiontec adapter I recently reviewed.I first tried it under Windows 7. The driver installed nicely and...

This little thing is awesome!
----------------------------------------------------------UPDATED: January 23, 2012 (Update section below)----------------------------------------------------------Installed January 14, 2011 and still excellent. I expect this thing to last at least until December 21 this year, when of course the Mayans have scheduled the world for demolition. :PHere's my take on the TP-Link TL-WN722N Wireless USB Adapter:-------------POSITIVES:-------------** It really, really works like mad. ** I get constant download speeds of 12Mbps+, which is close the the max of my internet bandwidth.- It's very cheap cost-wise for the great performance it gives you- It's small(ish), though it will look big connected to your laptop- Comes with a 3' USB extension cable which I definitely recommend using. It helps position the device, and keeps it from crowding your laptop or from being destroyed by being knocked...

TP-LINK TL-WN722N
It has my respect for two reasons. First, It pulls in a signal from somewhere, not on our acreage. And secondly, anywhere I've tried it, it has an outstanding, full five bars signal. This is paired with an AT&T 2wire wireless G router and has no loss, I can find. The Only con is you must D/L Win 7 driver from their site, which took 30 seconds to locate and download. XP and Vista drivers on disc supplied. It made my first wireless box happy, the rest remain hardwired, "for now".Simple, Painless, Secure. If you are looking for something reliable, this is currently $20 shipped to your place.Get you one.To test I had 4 secure pages and 2 different HULU channels playing and a few web pages, all open concurrently, and each was clear and fluid.

Cheap, stable, powerful
I am very happy with this adapter. It's cheaper than most competitors, yet performs much better. I have a half dozen different wireless adapters in my house. I bought all different models to test them out. This TP-LINK is by far the best performer. It sees more wireless networks and maintains a better connection. It is much bigger than most USB adapters, especially with the big antenna sticking out the side. But that's the price you pay for better performance. I also had to install drivers on my Win7 64 computer. Most USB adapters are plug&play.

Cheap card. Slightly faster than my 100Mb/sec onboard nic
Unless I'm doing something wrong, this card is slightly faster than my 100mb/s onboard nic. I copied a 4.7 gb iso file over from my NAS drive using the computer's onboard nic. It avg around 7.5-7.7 mb/sec. Then I installed the pcitxr gigabit card and it definately was faster, but it only went up to about 11mb/sec. I didn't expect 10x improvement, but was hoping for just 2x (think about it, 1000/100=10x).BTW, I'm running a dlink dgs-2208 gigabit switch between the computer and the nas if that matters.Update 6/14/10:The slow speed is due to the dlink NAS drive. I have a dlink 321 and 323. They are both slow and even though they are advertised as NAS with a gigabit interface, it will only average 8-11mb/sec. Some have seen 15mb/sec (I have), but that's not average.I've been running this nic card for about 1.5 years and it's been reliable. I'm updating the rating from 3 to a 5.I also noticed someone gave me a thumbs down on this...

Great Nic!
I have tried many ethernet cards, and this one is tops. It uses a superior chipset that is now hard to find, but it is highly reliable. Later versions tend to overheat, but not this one. I have several of them, and unlike many other nics, I am happy with all of them. This is clearly another gem from TRENDnet, and I am quickly becoming a fan! You need this card!Regards,proclus[...]

Not the fastest 1GB adapter but great value
I needed to upgrade my media server (win2k3 home server) and my home theater pc (win7 home premium) to gigabit from their built in 100bt NICs. I couldn't stream large 24gb+ 1080p high def mkv files, the network wasn't fast enough. But i also didn't want to dump a bunch of money into new cards so i checked out these Trendnet cards, i picked them up for 10 bucks each at another store. These cards install in a regular 32bit PCI slot. Both windows 7 and windows server 2003 recognized and auto-installed the drivers. These cards are based on the Realtek RTL8169 chipset and although my 2003 server had a driver already, i had to download a newer driver from Realtek to get Jumbo Frame support. The windows 7 driver that auto-installed was full featured. You will want to enable Jumbo Frames to get the most performance out of these cards. Unfortunately the driver only supports jumbo frames up to 7k (rather than 9k), but turning on jumbo frames upped my transfer rate...

N speeds on dual bands
This is a good item, if you're having speed/connection issues after install you might need to tweak your router depending on your situation. To understand how this will perform in your specific situation you have to know something about networking. The the factors that influence wifi speed are:1-5Ghz N has trouble going through walls (the denser the wall the worse it gets).2-using mixed mode(g and n) is more likely to bring down connection speed and cause connection issues.3-having a lot of "wireless" activity can also bring lower speeds and connection problems(you can fiddle with this by chosing a channel that performs better).I have a cisco E3000 (N on 5Ghz and N on 2.4Ghz, both with a different Network ID)and a connected belkin N150 as an access point for G on 2.4Ghz with also, its own network ID.I have devices with N on 2.4Ghz, G on 2.4Ghz end with the AE1000, N on 5Ghz.This setup gives optimal speeds and solid...

Refurbished Cisco AE1000
After having installed a Linksys E2000 wireless router and not being able to connect to my Compaq laptop I was told by Linksys customer support that I needed an AE1000 for my laptop. I decided to get the refurbished AE1000 because of the price and the fact that it had a 90 day warranty. I do not regret this decision at all. The unit looks brand new and works fine. Installation was a breeze and quick. Given the price differential between this unit and a new unit, this is a super deal.

Excellent, inexpensive, high-performing wifi adapter!
I am very impressed with this adapter.I've never tried to use wifi with any of my desktops, but after moving one of my systems to a room that wasn't pre-wired with RJ-45 ports, I began looking for a wifi adapter. My initial instinct was an internal PCI adapter, but I stumbled across this one which turned out to be great luck! It's a lot cheaper than many PCI options too!The two antennas pick up signals incredibly well. When testing it with my laptop, I get 5 bars wherever I go in the house... even outside.Additionally, the capability to position the adapter wherever you like is a huge plus. I'm sure it helps to improve reception and avoid clutter. If you need an wifi adapter, look no further. I highly recommend this product!

Easy as 1-2-3!
Bought this to hook up a new desktop system to our historical society's wifi network.Step 1: Plug into computer using supplied USB cableStep 2: Install driver from included CDStep 3: Connect and enter password (one-time)Took all of 2-3 minutes! Windows reported excellent connection and I didn't even have to extend the antennas. Our network is currently Wireless G - but this connected with no problem. Router is in another room about 40 feet away.Used to download and install several hundreds of MB's of OS & application updates, anti-virus, and firewall software. Connection remained solid entire time.

Great Product!
I am a soldier in Afghanistan where I live in a tent. The nearest internet hotspot is about 120 meters away behind a 1 foot thick concrete blast wall. Before I purchased this relatively inexpensive 'high-gain' antenna I had to leave my tent and walk outdoors towards a signal to connect to the internet. Now, not only am I able to connect, but I have twice as many choices of networks to connect to. This little gadget is awesome! The upload and download speeds are good enough for SKYPE. It is one of the best devices I've purchased since I've been here.

A very capable wireless adapter, given the right driver
The AirLink101 adapter is probably the smallest wireless-N capable USB adapter you will find. It's small size is ideal for laptop and desktop computers alike, as it doesn't stick out and risk being broken.First off, the driver that comes with the USB adapter SUCKS. The two adapters I purchased were both used on Windows 7 x64 desktops. While Windows 7 easily detected the device and installed drivers for it, the stock drivers made for a very difficult time getting a reliable connection to the network. The drivers found on the included CD were no better.Turns out you need to download the RealTek drivers for the 802.11b/g/n Single Chip RTL8188CUS chipset from RealTek's website, as this AirLink adapter uses the RealTek chipset. Once I installed that driver on both desktop computers, my signal strength was much higher and did not drop a connection. Surfing the net was every bit as fast as my wireless-G connections (as expected), and intranet transfers were very...

Works well, and is the best replacement size!
I had a customer's internal wireless card fail, and found this easier and cheaper. The size is as people say- right about the size of a quarter, and it sticks out of the USB port by less than half a centimeter. This is FAR less annoying to deal with than a typical USB flash drive size adapter or a PC card adapter that sticks out and can get snapped off easily by just one careless bump.Installation was normal- installed it on a low-end Compaq laptop running 2GB RAM and Windows 7 Ultimate. Put it in the USB port, popped the CD in when Windows asked for a driver and it did it's thing. The reviewer that reported a poor speed hopefully got one from a bad batch, because mine was right at 150Mbps when one wall away, and fluctuated between 54-105 when three walls away. Throughput was a steady 20Mbps or more [this is file transfer speed, etc., a different spec than connection speed]. I was completely satisfied and do was my client. I just ordered another for a Sony...

Micro Wireless N
I bought this to go with my new wireless N router. I was kind of bummed they do not make one which can handle the full speed of wireless n, but i figured half the speed would be a great improvement, plus the range increase would also be nice. i just opened it today and it is really really small. plugged it in and win 7 installed some generic driver before i could stop it, but it did not make a difference. followed the directions which came with the adapter and in about 5-10 minutes, i was connected. a few small items to take note of. you can use the win 7 wireless tool to connect to networks, however, whenever my computer shut off, went to sleep, etc, it would not auto connect (even though i told it to). turns out you have to use the airlink tool which gets installed to create a profile and then set that profile as the default profile. then, whenever you restart, turn on, wake it up, etc, it will auto connect without any issues (though the airlink tool does pop up every time)...
