One of the Best Love Stories of All Time
THE NOTEBOOK has long been my favorite of Nicholas Sparks' many books, so it is a happy surprise to me that the wonderful story transferred to the big screen with all the sweetness, warmth, and tenderness that made the book a runaway best seller. The best part of this movie was the incredible chemistry between Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling as the young lovers Allie and Noah. Their story was told by an elderly couple in a nursing home. James Garner and Gena Rowlands were outstanding as the devoted "Duke" and the woman with irreversible dementia. As Duke recounted the story of Allie and Noah from the notebook he carried with him, the lady's memory began to come back and she could remember.The movie always changes the book but the one major change (the ending) which had the audience letting out a collective gasp and reaching for the nearest tissue was, in my opinion, really good even if it was pure Hollywood melodrama. This screen adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' bestseller is a deeply emotional story of young love, the process of maturity, the crucial choices in our lives, and the frailty of old age. I have not read the book, and thus cannot comment upon the fealty of this film to Sparks' manuscript, but its emotional tone and import is certainly consistent with his other works with which I am familiar. Expensive, but built to last
I use these for engineering notes at work. An average notebook of this size will last me several years. That is why I am happy my company buys this brand- I can carry this thing around to every meeting I attend for several years and it will be as solid the day I fill it as it was the day I unwrapped it. There are two secrets to know before you buy a stylus...
The first secret to all "modern" touchscreens is in how you address the stylus. What? You mean I have to say "Pretty please to it?". No, but understand that due to the non-durable nature of the capacitive touchscreen (iPad, smartphones, etc.) the tip has to be soft. Treat the stylus like a small, soft-tipped paint brush and stroke the screen versus pushing down to try to write. If someone is complaining that the tip is collapsing or they tore the tip off quickly, they are trying to write with the stylus versus stroking the screen. Try this now. Look at your hand holding a pen. Now hold the pen with the back pointing to your left or right as you would when you stroke paint brush so you can see what you are painting. That is the secret in addressing the stylus.The second secret is not obvious until you purchase a stylus and then it is too late. Works OK if you press lightly
It is a good stylus but the tips are pretty soft compared to the better (more expensive) models. I am not sure how long the tip will last and would be concerned about a potential tear causing any scratches on screen. So far so good. These work OK most of the time but sometimes skip a swipe. Then again so do my fingers. I tried a more expensive one with a stiffer tip but it started giving me some debris on screen like an eraser does after only 2 weeks. It was not worth the cost so I tried these cheaper ones on my Motorola Xoom and they are well worth the cost. I would just monitor the condition of tips to prevent any problems down the road. If they made these with stiffer tips, it would help accuracy and I would rate 5 stars for sure.

Tantric and erotic
This is a delicate film. It starts with the young male protagonist and subtly shifts to the female. She proceeds to educate him in the tantric and therefore, the spiritual side of love making. The erotic scenes are just that but from an entirely gentle perspective. There is an undertone concerning his relationship to his dead father. While, from one argument, appearance is a superficial concern, films are first and foremost, a visual experience. She is stunning. He is a suitable counterpart. This is a tender love story between a young 19 year old inexperienced boy Eloy and a wise 28 year old woman Elvira. Eloy's father has died and he begins sleepwalking. His brother sets traps for him so that he will wake up and stop sleepwalking. Instead Eloy walks the roofs off buildings and eventually falls into Elvira's bed through her open skylight. From there the whole sexual awakening and teaching happens. Eventually they fall deeply in love and the story ends happily ever after.In a way, this sounds like a wonderful, sweet movie that most would enjoy. Don't look down but don't look away
When I watch a movie of this genre I am looking for bare breasts and as expicit sex as I can get. The main actress in this film is beautiful. And she has excitingly beautiful breasts. They are rather small but I prefer them small. The film is ubiquitous with her nude scenes, much to my delight. The film is punctuated with sensual nearly explicit sex scenes. If you have to have explicit, go rent a copy of Caligula or the Brown Bunny. Any of you reading this know of any other explicit films of this genre, please enlighten me. The film has an odd storyline but is not boring and even interesting at times. Oh yes there is a leading guy in this. He walks around on stilts, thus the title don't look down.
