Good quality, but pricey
Sometimes it is a little hard to gauge the dimensions of an item when shopping online. This wastebasket - which is a good quality stainless steel and operates well - was one of those items that was hard for me to try to determine size. It is a little small for my liking - it is used as a bathroom waste basket - and the price is a bit dear. Overall, I like it, but I think that there are better values elsewhere.

Very nice little trash can.
We managed to get this trashcan at a deep discount, and for what we paid for it, it was completely worth it. What it normally goes for is waaaay outside what we'd pay for a trashcan that's less than a foot tall. Happily, though, the sticker that advertised fingerprint-proof stainless steal has been replaced with a card on a ribbon (taped to the inside of the trashcan, using an easy-off adhesive).The trashcan comes with a mini supply of tiny drawstring bin liners. Very frou frou, but what more to expect from a fancy-pants company like Brabantia?It also arrived with the pedal piece loose in the box. I assume this product should have arrived fully assembled, but it did not. We did manage to get the pedal onto the bin, but not without considerable effort (no assembly instructions were provided, so I don't think this is how they normally arrive). It's a delicate operation because the pedal is both plastic and metal, so we were afraid we might snap the plastic...

Perfect for my new bath
I've had another stainless steel wastebasket in my bath for years now. I like the clean look, and how you don't see the contents every time you look down. This one is on the smaller side, which fits in well with the size of my bath. These are not rust-proof, however, and you may find a need to go over the outside with some type of cleaning product once in awhile.

I was under the impression that the lid on this thing would close softly like the bigger models. Not a big deal. I just want to mention it in case people are getting this can over another because they want a soft closing lid.It's still a great product though I'm not sure if it's that much better than the $6 cans I saw at TJMAXX

Functional and Pragmatic
I like the way Simple Human is constantly improving their products. The details in this trash can validate the cost compared to items that look like it. For example, we had a similar one that you could not pull the bag out of without lifting the entire can, and the foot pedal broke after less than a year. This baby is holding up to stomps by four people, including two five year olds. it looks good sitting out on the floor, and the bag comes out easily. I will say that the bags are a minor issue - you really need Simple Human bags. Also the bag suggested for this can looks good, but it easily slips into the can, a messy experience. We opted for a slightly larger bag. yes, the bag is visible now, but it never slides into the can. The bags themselves are tough and easy to use though and we get a large box a few times a year at Bed Bath and Beyond.

The Odor Killer
I bought this trash can based on my daily work schedule M-F. I didnt always have time to throw out trash during random hours of the day so i wanted to keep my dogs waste pads under a wrap. This nifty thing does the trick (sort of) whereas the odor does completely stay in the trash can but only so much. I find myself having to change out the garbage at least once a week to minimize odor as well as usage of trash bags. Its a simple clean design, very nice and compact for what it is. I also love the dual door feature where it has 2 enclosures to ensure that the pesky odor stays in the trash bags.There could be a few things to be changed with this but overall, Its a great product and does its thing.. but is it worth the price? For me it toss up.

Well designed, odor free and bug free
We have had this container since January 2007 and it has been a great kitchen addition. Many well thought out features that are surprisingly useful: (1) Pedal so you don't need to use your hands, (2) an inner bucket that lifts right up neatly (no spilling) to take right to the composter, (3) no odors coming out of it, (4) no bugs! (but we did have bugs when we tried to reuse the same plastic liner for several months, so best change the bags more regularly when dumping out for compost). And it looks pretty in the kitchen.
