Copper green paint
I deal with stained glass, and normally we use patina (liquid acid) to change the color of metal to what we need. I was dealing with a lamp repair that did not use patina, but rather a paint. The lamp was a $2500 all clear bevel lamp by Fredrick Ramond, and I had to match the color of the metal as I was only doing a repair on the lamp, and there was a matching set of four total. I did not use the copper base on this project, but did test it out to see how it would like, and it looked exactly like the picture on the box shows. The green was slightly off from the color I was trying to match, but blended very well.If you are trying to get the antique look of copper, this is the product to use. The instructions were straight forward, and the paint looks exactly like it should if you follow them.

Not for smooth surfaces
Rust-Oleum 7983955 Antique Pewter kitWas going to use this kit to refinish a polished brass hanging lamp. Before doing so, I tried it out on a couple of samples - one was smooth the other had raised designs. The spray (Base) coat produced a nice smooth polished appearance on both samples. After the base coat dried (following the package instructions) and rubbing both samples with the sanding pad, the top coat was applied with a brush and wiped to produce the "desired" finish. The raised design sample produced an acceptable finish in that the top coat remained in the grooves as the highlights were wiped - thereby accentuating the design. However, the smooth sample retained obvious streaks and did not provide an appealing surface finish. Since the lamp was primarily made of smooth surfaces, I did not use this refinishing kit.In reviewing the product box, it is noted that all of the sample photographs are of uneven surfaces and complex designs - perhaps this should have...
