A good product with many uses
I purchased mine shortly after buying the lot for my house, to pull saplings and bushes: worked like a charm. Built a garage, and used it to un-rack the frame -- squaring the building. Got my utility trailer stuck in the mud, and used this to pull it out. Snow-thrower died, and I used this to winch it on my utility trailer to take for repairs. Not too bulky, heavy, or expensive -- it sure has bailed me out enough to be one of the last tools I'd ever wish to be without. Highly recommended! george

Good tool for working with trees

Excellent mid sized belt sander
I love this mid sized belt sander. I am a contractor so I know about tools. Every tool has a specific purpose and this sander fits in perfectly for what I need it to do. 9 amps is allot of power for a sander and thankfully this one has the variable speed. The variable speed switch is nicely located so that you can adjust the speed with your pinky finger while not taking your hands off the sander. The weight of this machine was actually less than what I was expecting. I have a larger 12 amp Bosch sander and was expecting this belt sander to weigh in closer to that, but it doesn't. This sander actually feels much lighter than the Porter Cable 352VS that this Hitachi is replacing. (On a side note, why is all of my loved Porter Cable tools turning into junk? Hopefully now that Stanely owns PC it will go back to normal.)This sander is made in Malaysia so it is not the norm China junk. I put this sander to work immediately, as I wore out my previous sander (B&D) in the middle of a project and had borrowed a friend's Skil. This sander is awesome. The tracking was very stable, requiring only an occasional tweak (Nice Knob). Belts were easy to replace with the handy lever. The dust collection was very impressive for a belt sander, picking up almost all the dust. My only minor complaint is that I had to empty the bag often, and if I waited too long, I had to dig the sanding dust out with a spoon.I found it easy to control, and it seemed well balanced. The speed control was in a good location, easy (but not too easy) to reach. Plenty of power and a long cord. But if tens of thousands of authors and publishers start standing up for their rights and explaining to readers how copyright infringements are damaging their ability to continue creating new works, it will have an impact.
I am a pro-Internet author. I have been publishing online since 1995, I publish eBooks without DRM, and I give away large amounts of my work on my website. Same modem at a lower price!
I was wary to buy this modem from this seller because it had no reviews and it wouldn't come in retail packaging. After convincing myself that it was the same one as listed elsewhere for more, I took the plunge and have been very happy with the modem. The installation for this modem, as with all cable modems, is exceedingly easy. The sales rep at Comcast that I spoke to said that they could only guarantee me 12 Mbps service on my plan, but that I was allowed up to 20 Mbps. She said this was because I am in a high rise and that there are many tenants also using the same cable feed for Internet. I am happy to say that with this Docsis 3.0 modem, I am bonding 4 channels and getting over 22 Mbps down and over 4 Mpbs up which is plenty for a vacation spot. I highly recommend this modem and you shouldn't hesitate to buy it here and save a couple bucks.

Fast and Comcast compatible
I decided to buy my own modem instead of renting the lower-end model from Comcast for $7/month. This has DOCSIS 3.0, so it supports higher speeds than the DOCSIS 2.0 Comcast rented me. My speeds increased from 18Mbps to 24Mbps by just installing the new modem. I just called Comcast, gave them the model # and serial/MAC, and they set it up over the phone.
