Nice package!
I enjoyed snorkeling with this setup. I have a big head and large nose but the mask fit comfortably. I also have wide feet and the fins were comfortable as well. I felt the lenses on the mask were smaller than I expected, however the visibility didn't seem restricted. I ordered the black set and one thing I would point out is that the fins are all black, in the photo the listing provides they have a pattern on them, not a big deal to me but worth noting. AWESOME!!!!
These little wipers are awesome!!! I had all kinds of issues with fogging when I dove. Fogging took the fun out of diving for me. Now, I have no issues with fogging. I have not had any issues with these falling out of my mask. I have done all kinds of entries into the water and they have not fallen off or even moved unless I moved them. They don't interfere with your field of vision. The only thing that people need to remember is that you will be asked by other divers what they are and if they work. I love these little gems!!! Brilliant!
Everywhere I dive, people ask me about this little gizmo. I've started carrying extras just to be able to share. It works like a charm when the normal remedies for fog (spit, toothpaste, chemicals) have failed. Top to learn more

Product Description
MASK NOT INCLUDED! This fog wiper is a manual device that allows the user to slide a wiper/magnet on the outside of the lens, causing an inside wiper/magnet to move in unison and wipe off fog. SIMPLE! This product works even with prescription lens masks. and with contact lenses. Note that unit price (quantity=1) is for one wiper/magnet on the inside and one wiper/magnet on the outside; If your mask has two separate lenses, you must order TWO (quantity=2) units. Wide-i fog wipers for Swimming Goggles, Professional Dive Helmets, Ski & Snowboard Goggles, Airsoft & Paintball Masks, and Firefighter Masks, are also available at Amazon. Top to learn more
Beware, compass interference!
This product does all that it says as far as cleaning the lenses, but it definitely interfered with my compass and I could not navigate underwater when wearing the magnets. Just an important tip if you use your compass for navigation. Top to learn more

Very good beginner's snorkeling kit
I purchased this snorkeling set for my first shot at snorkeling. This was a very good basic set, good for a beginner. The one problem with the snorkel was that if it went under water, it would fill up with water. Some more advanced snorkels have a small valve in the top, which prevents this from happening. One important thing to note is the sizing. The sizes provided on the website are for MEN only. For WOMEN, the sizes are different. I have copied the following chart from the actual box, so this can be used while purchasing. All of these are US sizes.SMALL : M 5-6.5 W 6.5-8MEDIUM : M 6.5-8 W 8-9.5MED-LARGE : M 8-9.5 W 9.5-11LARGE : M 9.5-11.5 W 11-13X-LARGE : M 11.5-13 W 13-14.5In case your shoe size falls on the borderline of two sizes, get the larger one, its more comfortable.Overall, a very good buy and a surely recommended product.Update 1/12/2011 - It appears that the sizing chart on my box does not match the sizing chart on... Basic good design
I bought this set to use for my summer vacation. I'm from the Caribbean..so the beach is just 10 minute drive. It's basically a good kit for the price but the snorkle is not a "dry snorkle". Instead it has slits to the side to flush out excess water if you either go below, or a wave forced water in. There's a valve in the base of the snorkle that lets clearing the tube real easy however. I spear fish for hours sometimes so I personally rather a true dry snorkle. Blowing out water from a snorkle for a few hours tends to hurt the mouth when the day is done. However for recreational purposes its ok.As for the glass its easily adjustable and I found even my kids(6&8) can wear it and get a tight fit. That's not always true with diving glasses. It also lets a lot of light in and I can see from the corner of my eyes. This helps ease the mind, as I have been watching "shark week" lol. Top to learn more

Decent starter kit
Cons: The ribbed goggle snaps didn't hold in place on one side after 2-3 uses. If you have a small head, it could be an issue as a tight fit is needed for snorkling.Pros: For the price, this is a good set. The flippers are large and truely help in ocean swimming. The snorkle design helps keep splashes from getting into the breathing tube. Top to learn more

Love it!
Fins are very comfy, dry snorkel is very nice and mask is great! Big field of vision with the mask, but it does sit close to the face so if you have a big nose it wouldn't work well. Bag is really nice, but I wish it had double zipper on big compartment like it does on the small one. Bag is big enough to fit 2 sets of gear. Overall great buy! Top to learn more

good fins, great mask, fantastic snorkel
I have two other pairs of fins, but was purchasing a set of gear for my sister. I tried out the set one day to get a comparison and the fins felt a bit heavier or just harder to use than both of my other pairs - even my big diving fins. I could see how they might make the top of your foot sore - especially in a strong current. I definitely like my Tusa Tri-Ex fins better, even though they are a bit more bulky and require a dive boot. The mask was very nice; it had a good seal and didn't have any water leakage issues. The snorkel was incredible. My sister decided she didn't like snorkeling very much, so I will be trading snorkels with her :) I like the mask and snorkel better than my Tusa Imprex - though, I would recommend either mask/snorkel combo - depending on which fits your face better. Why didn't I buy this BEFORE Mexico?
The truth is that I've done A LOT of snorkeling in some very nice places over the years including with Whale Sharks off Cancun only last month but always using inferior equipment. Finally I got sick of water finding its way into my mask and I ordered this from Amazon, using my blackberry, while on the beach in Puerto Aventuras. It was waiting for me when I got home.I took it out in the murky waters off Long Island last week and my only question is "Where's this thing been all my life?" NO leaking at all. Virtually no water coming down the snorkel when I dive. It's a water tight but very comfortable fit. Just do yourself a favor and get it BEFORE your next adventure. Top to learn more

Snorkeling
The Body Glove Reliance Purge Mask and Immerse Dry Snorkel set was great. I used it in the ocean and there were no leaks in the mask. The snorkel worked wonderful no water came in when I went under and as soon as I came up the purge valve opened so I could breath. I would recommend this item. Top to learn more

Investing in SCUBA equipment can be worthwhile, but not if you are unaware of exactly what equipment you need to buy before you get it. Getting scuba gear can be very exciting, but you need to maintain your enthusiasm before getting items that... A primary example of comprehending a very important piece of diving equipment is knowing which diving fins to get for the dive you will be on. Open water diving, for example, requires a completely different type of fin than deep sea diving or... There is different diving gear for different diving conditions. Recreational divers have a particular configuration that they call the open circuit set up. Most rebreather configurations are similar to semi closed circuits and ones that are completely closed. The equipment you will need will depend on what kind of conditions you will be diving in. Regardless, it’s imperative that you understand completely how each piece of equipment you purchase operates. Another piece of equipment that you need to take into account is the second stage air regulator on your mouthpiece more commonly called a demand valve. Although closed circuits were the original, open circuits are now the most popular. Another spare demand valve which is attached to a completely different host, called the octopus, is also very popular. A diving regulator is used with the cylinders receiving the air within them which is stored around 3000 to 4000 PSI.
I’ve done all my dives on rental gear and frankly I think it’s time I start investing in my own gear. scubaman answers: I think you will ultimately want to buy your equipment from the dive shop instead of going “behind their back” and ordering from the internet because that is where you are going to take your gear to be serviced. Otherwise all you will get is people’s opinions on what gear is “best”…which is often just the gear they own. They will likely know if you were to bring gear in that you didn’t buy from them and they may service it for you but they may not honor the manufacturer’s service warranties (which, at least for Aqua Lung, means free parts for life). So with all the problems of using rental gear, I think it’s time I start buying my own. If I’m going to spend good money on this stuff, I want QUALITY gear, but I don’t need the best of the best. Scuba gear. bottom line, we want to do a lot of scuba diving but don’t want to spend a lot of money. You will almost certainly get friendlier service if you buy from them instead of buying elsewhere. It isn’t easy to make any kind of recommendations without knowing what your options are, what your budget is, what kind of diving you are doing now, what kind of diving you might want to do in the future, etc etc. we would like to spend as little money as possible on the accommodations and put more towards the scuba diving but also don’t want to go to for example Cozumel if Riviera Maya has a lot more to offer and a price difference is insignificant. Would the conservative Mares RGBM dive computer algorithm be a good match for your diving style.
It is important to be aware of what scuba diving equipment you are going to need, regardless of whether you decide to buy expensive or discount scuba diving equipment . This way you are going to be familiar with your scuba diving equipment so... You may even want to talk to a scuba professional who is going to be able to help you here and make sure that shopping for scuba gear is easy for you. The wetsuit is a very important piece of scuba diving gear, and you need to shop carefully for it and make sure that you are getting the right size. These are pieces that you should always have on hand for any dive you go to. One of the most important pieces of scuba diving equipment is the regulator.
Taking your sport more seriously probably means taking more scuba diving holidays , and when you do you’ll soon tire of the hired scuba gear and look for equipment that suits you. Most scuba enthusiasts know what it’s like trying to pull on a suit that isn’t quite big enough: Hello plastic bags and scuffed knuckles and goodbye dignity – not the pre-dive Zen any of you are seeking. If you dive fairly regularly and in different places, buy a full-length steamer suit of average thickness as a good all rounder. Scuba suits differ from wetsuits made for surfing etc. Imagine being underwater scuba diving in Greece and not being able to reach your octopus or adjust your fins because your suit was just too tight. If you know you’re going to be diving in a wide range of climates and temperatures then it’s time to get more serious and consider having at least two different suits. Readers please note, that I’m talking scuba here. Size it up. To do its job – keep you warm – it’s essential your wetsuit is the right size. The thickness of the suit will also affect how it feels and, potentially, what size you should choose. But that’s because I am, in most instances, a fair weather diver and have been lucky enough to live and work in places where the water temperature was often around 28 degrees – so , I often dive just in shorts. If you’re diving in 10 degrees or less, research ‘dry suits’, which are not covered in this post. Finally, when choosing your suit, it’s good to look at the details.
