Great Mower with a Great Engine!
When it was time to replace my 11 year-old Craftsman, there were a few things I knew I wanted (and a few things I didn't want) in my next mower. I wanted a quality engine with plenty of power and good over-all construction. I wanted it to have a mulching feature, and I prefer the taller rear wheels.I didn't want my mower to be self-propelled. My 1/3 acre yard is fairly flat and easy to mow. I don't have any trouble pushing a mower around. Self-propelled mowers cost more, weigh more, and have more parts to break. But my biggest reason is you get less power to the blade because the motor is also powering the drive wheels. Just a plain ol' push mower for me, thanks!The Basics:The Husqvarna 7021P is a 21" push mower with an excellent 160cc GCV Honda engine. I'm not exactly sure when it happened, but sometime between the purchase of my last mower and this new one, the old standard of horsepower ratings has been replaced by a new "gross torque" rating...

Durable, powerful, great value
I bought my Husqvarna 21 inch push mower with the 5.5HP Honda engine in 2003. I mow about 1 acre total of non-irrigated weeds on hilly rough terrain. I beat this mower up year after year and it's never failed to start right up and offer up plenty of power through tall grass. This year (2010) during the first mowing of the season I ran over a small tree stump and bent the crankshaft, even doing the work myself it will probably be too expensive to justify repairing a 7 year old mower but I will definitely replace it with the same thing when I get a new one.6/11/2010 Follow-up: I was able to find a crankshaft online inexpensively which allowed me to try to do the repair myself. I am happy to report that the mower re-build project was a success and my Honda engine is purring along happily once again, may I get many more seasons of use from this very durable lawn mower.

What a great lawnmower!With a little more then 3 hours break-in time on the Honda Engine , I think it's safe to say that I got a good one. I love the sound (tone) of the engine, you can tell it's a Honda ;-) I had some deep grass to mow due to the failure of my 25 year old 5 hp Tecumseh mower RIP (served me well).Anyhow, this Husqvarna 7021P is a serious lawn mower, for anyone that likes high performance equipment. I was very impressed with the power. The dual bearing wheels made pushing a breeze. That is my first impression. Should I have any trouble, I will be sure to post a follow-up... Great Honda Motor, Body & Warranty are Questionable.
Folks,Most equipment with a Honda motor will run, because that's what Honda's do. This is my second mower with a Honda GCV160 motor. I also have the Husqvarna 7021P. They both run well and start easily. However, you get what you pay for. The Husqvarna is the better choice if you don't mind a push as opposed to a self-propelled.The Troy-Bilt 2 year limited warranty is garbage. They don't cover parts, labor and possibly shipping according to Lowe's. That is not a real warranty. The Husqvarna has a two year parts and labor warranty and a better made deck with little to no plastic unlike the Troy-Bilt. The best way to get a great motor, deck and warranty combo is to buy a genuine Honda mower. You will get the entire package then.Update 3/9/12Mower cuts very well, clean. Body seems to be holding up. Honda motor starts and runs better than anything I have ever seen.

Great mower, even better price
Rear-wheel drive self-propelled mowers are usually much more expensive than this. Great for lawns with any kind of incline, which render front-wheel drive mowers useless. I had it out of the box and cutting grass within 5 minutes. Starts the first time, every time, with an easy pull, no-prime starter. The throttle bar kills the engine extra-fast, so extremely safe. The self-propel bar has variable speeds, which is very handy for tight turns. At full speed, you almost have to trot behind the mower to keep up, so not for people with limited mobility. I don't even mind the 20" deck... those 2 extra inches aren't worth the price difference. My ONLY complaint so far is that the mower has trouble moving even slightly damp (or very thick) grass into the rear bag. It tends to clog up at the rear of the mower and mulch, causing you to stop, remove the bag and physically pull the clogged grass out the back of the mower. This isn't a problem if the grass being cut is dry and only reasonably...

considering the price,,WONDERFUL !
First let me preface my review by saying I was replacing a 2 stroke Lawnboy I bought in 1995.This was self propelled,bag-mulch-chute.At that time I paid about $350.So when it came time to replace it, I looked to Lawnboy again.I also checked out a few others.My requierments were self propelled via REAR wheels and 3 way clipping dispersion.I picked the Lawnboy 10604.It had all I needed and the cost was VERY reasonable.Now my review.The engine and its ease of starting is excellent! Started right out of box,after fuel and oil were added.And,the engine seems very stout,tackles my 1/3 acre with ease.The down side,the adjustments and handles seem a little weak.As a matter of fact ,one of the height adjusters was bent a little during shipping.All in all,for the price,as of right now,in my yard,this cannot be beat.

Great 1st Mower
First up, the only reason I didn't give this mower 5 stars is because I've never owned another mower so I have nothing to compare it to. But, overall, as the first mower I've ever owned this Lawn Boy is perfect!I bought this mower from the store and had it oiled, gassed, and running in less than 15 minutes after I got it home. The oil came in the box, which was a nice. All I had to buy in addition to the mower itself was gasoline. The assembly instructions were easy to follow.There are about 7 different length settings to use, so no matter how long or short you want your grass, this mower can handle it. My back lawn is about 60x30--which is a nice size--and it has a slight slope and uneven terrain. This mower attacks every inch of my lawn perfectly! Even around the trees. The rear wheel drive and self-propelling makes coming up the hill very easy. I can actually drive the mower with one hand when I'm using the self-propelling lever. And it doesn't move so fast...

American made quality at its very best
Looked at and read reviews on many mowers before deciding on this mower from a local dealer. It has a heavy steel frame and an OHV Kohler motor that is stronger and larger than the Honda in this price range. The cast iron motor means less problems with overheating and damage compared to aluminum engines, and there are less moving parts. And the OHV engine is more fuel efficient and gas ain't cheap right now :-( Wheels have ball bearing which means they will last longer and have less wobble than the Craftsman we had. Consumer Report rated it very good for mulching, handling and ease of use.(told ya I did my homework)Some Sears stores carry the entry level Husq with the smaller engine but you can check it out for yourself. Solid frame and engine---flimsy electric system---warranty a joke
Purchased this Husqvarna XT722FE mower thru AMAZON in April 11. Easy to assemble but noticed a rather flimsy plug connection and electic wiring( the fuse hangs between the handle uorights and connection to starter is two basic wires hanging out above the deck) After second use, the mower would not start as battery did not appear to have charged....thought it was a bad battery. However my techie side got out the old multimeter and found out that the charger had ceased to work. Called warranty service and first question was "who was the distributor that you bought the lawnmower from" when I replied "AMAZON" the CS lady on the other end said " oh, that's a problem". Told me I had to make an appointment at a service center and take in the mower and the charger (yes the entire thing)---called for an appointment and the earliest they could see me was July 11 and it would have to go thru their "troubleshooting--approx 1 week"---called customer service back but they would not send out a new...

Very Good - But
I poured in the oil and gas, charged up the battery, and turned the key once. It started up instantly, and has done so every time since. The steel construction inspires confidence. I subtracted a star because the mower arrived with a faulty rear wheel, and the manual is really pretty awful.

Best mower i have ever used
I have used many mowers in my time and this is the best mower i have ever used.The weight of the mower for me makes it perfect because it is easy to use and move around.you can use the self propelled feature when the mower is not on makes putting it away great.I live in Oregon so the grass is thick and wet and the mulching feature was so good that i did not need to the bag the grass.The charger to me works great no problems.I have a very big yard and i only used little less than half the battery power.The plastic is very well made and makes the mower light and seems to hold up very well.I give this mower a all around A++++ and will never go back to gas again

Great mower for an average tract home lawn.
Pros: Lightweight and ergonomiclly designed. Quiet and extremely easy to use. The highth adjustment is rediculously easy to use as is the self propelled function. Easy to clean and cuts a standard lawn well. Mulches, bags, and rear discharges equally well. Cons: Lacking in brute power. The self propulsion doesn't go slow enough for certain circumstances and it lags a bit. It takes a few seconds to get up to full speed. The safety button that allows you to engage the cutting function isn't easy to find without looking for it. It could use being raised slightly or textured to be found by feel. The cutting function bale has a very light spring and the blade can stay cutting once you let go. The charging port is in an akward area to use and you must bend over to insert the charging cord. PROS: No cord, gas or smoke, easy to adjust cutting height, only minor assembly required, seems well-built and designed, quiet, 36 volts.CONS: Heavy at 75 lbs., flimsy charger plug and wire, more difficult to turn because of length, made mainly out of plastic - although this may not be so bad in the long run if you live in a humid area.I would recommend the self-propelled version mainly because of the mower's heavy weight. The rear drive wheels are great for going up an incline, but take a bit of getting used to. You can't just push down on the handle bar and raise the front wheels slightly off the ground to make a quick turn. After you learn to quickly connect and disconnect the drive wheels as you mow and turn, it becomes much easier. You just have to learn to work with it, rather than force it to go your way.I like how the drive wheels slip gradually into gear, (nice!) but the slowest forward speed is not slow enough for cutting through tall...

After researching and reading mower reviews at amazon.com, Home Depot, Lowes, & other major sites, I was still indecisive on a mower until I came across the Husqvarna reviews on Sears.com. I purchased the CA model of fhte 6021P at my local Sears store today. No waiting on special as mentioned in other reviews. This is in stock and on sale for $219. Brought it home, filled it with gas & oil and like the other reviews..Wow! Started on 1st pull. Runs exceptionally smooth. Engine is quiet and smooth. Ball bearing wheels roll very nice. I bag my grass and the cut was clean and even. I am very impressed with this mower. I feel like I was using a $500 Honda premium mower. Husky 6021P XT-6
I bought this mower at my local shop after seeing a major consumer rating magazine recommended it.Amazon has the photo wrong at the top of this page. The pic shows a FWD powered mower, and this isNOT a powered mower. Standard old school push mower. Super easy and light to push due to the ballbearings though. I'll cut to the chase. First or second pull, starts smoothly and every time. Engineis strong and smooth in everything but the very tallest of grass. My lawn is centipede and cuts verywell. Only leaves the occasional straggler which is exceptable to me. Pretty good on gas too. My oldBolens took a tank and half to do my 3/4 acre lawn, and the Husky does it with only one. (Bone drythough when I finish.)My only issues with this mower is as follows. The foam padding on the handlebars is worthless. After 3 mows,cracks and falls off. The bagger only works 75% of the time. There is a huge gap where the bottom of the bagger...

It's Just OK
Easy to unbox and put together. Started 2nd pull. Cuts a 1/2 acre lot on one tank of gas. I researched and researched a non-self propelled mower to buy and decided on this model. I read the reviews on Kohler engines vs. Briggs and Stratton and thought it was a better buy. After using this mower I am not convinced that it is the better engine (reminds me of an old Tecumseh engine) and I would now spring for the Honda engine model#7021P over all. My last mower was a self propelled MTD with the Honda engine and that puppy was quiet and had the same cutting power. Ball bearing wheels are nice to push.Cons: Bagger sealing area is as bad as another reviewer said it is, it pretty much sucks. Handle soft grip will tear and slide. Engine feels unbalanced.
