Shop-Vac 6-gallon, another excellent workshop vac
Bought this particular 6-gallon Shop-Vac for my Wood Pellet furnace which requires regular vacuuming and maintenance. The nice thing about this particular Shop-Vac was that it included a HEPA cartridge filter as well as a disposable filter bag, both accessories are absolutely necessary for vacuuming ash and dust from a pellet stove or wood burner as the filter bag itself traps even the finest ash and dust particles.I own 2 other Shop-Vacs (an 8 gallon and 16-gallon Contractor vac), and they both have lasted many years with no loss of suction performance whatsoever. I use the filter bags and HEPA canister filters with all of my Shop Vacs, no dust spray out the back, keeps the air clean. I find Shop-Vac brand vacs to be very reliable canister vacuums and have never had any problems with them.The 6-gallon Pro Shop-Vac is yet another great product, it's relatively small, easily portable, and has a powerful 3-HP motor which provides plenty of suction power. Terrific SMALL Vac
Bought this for my small woodworking shop. It is plenty powerful and very easy to use. Small enough to hide under my workbench way out of the way, but big enough to do the job for me.HOWEVER - after browsing on Amazon I found this same item for $10 less at my local ACE hardware store! Excellent shop vac
I love this shop vac! I didn't need a bigger model so this six gallon model is perfect. It has lots of suction power, a very long hose which is nice and is much quieter than my old sixteen gallon shop vac. I bought a hepa filter for it which I highly recommend if you use your shop vac inside. Top to learn more

Excellent Vac
After wearing out two smaller less powerful Shop-Vacs I decided to move up to a larger and more powerful unit. This unit fit the bill as it is slightly larger - 8 Gal. V. 6 and has a much larger motor 5.5HP V. 3.0HP.The one thing that I wished I had known prior to purchase is the air flow difference using a 2.5" hose V. the 1.25" hose that comes with the unit. This difference was accidentally demonstrated the evening that I received the unit as I made a first run through the house with the unit. When I reached the living room I removed the hose from the intake side of the unit with the intent of putting it into the exhaust side of the unit so that I could blow some dust out of an area slightly out of reach of the hose. This brought an amazing change in motor tone and an exhaust tone reminiscent of a small jet engine. The more interesting thing occurred when I turned away from the unit for just a moment to move something out of the way. When I turned back to insert the hose...

Some Assembly Required.....
Although not in the product description, some assembly is required. You will need scissors, a flat head screw driver and some elbow grease. The scissors are needed to cut the enclosed diagram to be placed on the bottom of the unit when installing base (legs) and wheels. The four legs have to be snapped/pushed onto the outer rim prior to attaching with screw driver and the handles must be installed also.Pros:-The 8 gallon size is easy to roll and not too heavy if lifted/carried. Perfect for cleaning baseboards, ceilings or moving to the garage to clean vehicles.-The 5.5 Hp motor is quieter than expected and is quite powerful. I gave it a test run by using the floor attachment to vacuum a room with a vinyl floor covering. Wonderful!
My husband and I were refinishing over 3,000 square feet of hardwoods. You can imagine the mess. After a few attempts at trying to sweep and using a much less powerful shop vac, I gave in and went for the larger one with the accessories.I just LOVE it! Great Shop-Vac and easy to use
I purchased this for closing my pool. I have a smaller Shop-Vac as well. I chose this one to blow out the water from my lines so I do not have to remove water from my pool to get it below the input valve and the skimmer valve. I works great for that application. It also has plenty of power to vacuum up items. I use the smaller Shop-Vac to pick up water. I will also use this 6.5 peak HP Shop-Vac in my wood shop. It was easy to assemble with a snap-in tool holder and four screws for the legs that hold the rollers. Couldn't be easier to assemble. I guess that's the beauty of Shop-Vacs, simple but very useful and this one is quite powerful. It comes with accessories for standard vacuum functions, leaf blowing and removing leaves from gutters. My only issue is the tool holder doesn't hold all the tools. There are too many. Top to learn more

Looks Like a Toy - But Is Not a Toy
This really does look like a scaled down toy version made by Fisher Price for kids to play with, while dad has the real Shop-Vac (like those little toy shopping carts)... but it isn't a toy.We got this to do our floors -- about 2,000 sq feet of tile. When the steam mop says "sweep first" we don't want to "sweep," we want to vacuum. Getting out the big Shop-Vac had become just too much for me, so we read all the reviews and decided to give this a try.Perfect purchase.We've since added this to the chore list for the kids. They're able to do the entire downstairs (all 2,000 sq ft) in about 15 minutes... followed by the other kid with the steam mop, also 15 minutes of work. They empty when they begin or end and the tank is big enough to do the whole job.Since it is small, it doesn't get caught in doorways, by furniture, or by its own cord and tip over, the way the big Shop-Vac would do when it would get stuck, especially on its own cord... I Called the Manufacturer to Clear Up Some Confusion in the Reviews
I needed a small vac and mini tools to keep my sewing machines and computer keyboard cleaned out. This 1.5 gallon Shop Vac was the smallest I found with the best reviews. I saw in the reviews that one person opted not to use the disposable vac bags. Another reviewer stated you needed the Reusable Dry Disc Filter (which is not included with the vac). As this was not mentioned in the Product Description at Amazon, I emailed another dealer regarding the use of the Dry Disc Filter who said I did not need it. I received the vac and in glancing through the instructions, they said you need the resuable dry dic filter when picking up dust and dry material. I called the manufacturer this date who advised that yes, you DO need the Reusable Dry Disc Filter IF you are not using the disposable filter bag (one comes with the vac). That is good as there is not much room in the vac for the bag to expand. I plan to order the Reusable Dry Disc Filters and forego the vac bag for my use. It... Top to learn more

Fabulous Vac!!!
I just got my vacuum last week and I pulled it out this weekend for it's trial run, on the list of chores for my new vac:Empty out small pond in backyard for a cleaningClean up Dog RoomBlow out garageBlow off Driveway leavesI took out my Vac and put it together, VERY simple, attached the wheels that slide onto unit and then can be secured with one screw, attached the hose,nested all my attachemnts in their place ON the vacuum, slid on the water filter sleeve(provided), set aside the dry filter (provided) and off to the backyard pond I went!!This vacuum has a great big drain plug for easy draining!! no lifting and dumping water out with this one, great suction, emptied out my little pond in no time at all, worked great!!Then the dog room, vacuumed up everything and maybe a few things I didn't mean too, this vac has some great suction so be careful when vacuuming close to an item your not trying to vacuum, some people may... So far, so good!
I'll start with the reasons I didn't give this vac 5 stars. I think there are good reasons for these, but #1. It's not as quick to move from vac to blower mode as my last one was. #2. The blower is a noticeably heavier than my last vac's was.#3 The cord isn't as long as my last shop vac's cord was.Now for the good stuff. This is a powerful and QUIET vac compared to my last one. I would bet that it's the reason the blower is heavier. I think the reason it's not as easy to detach from the main unit is that you have to remove a part to put on an adapter, this will probably prolong the vac's life.So far I really like this new vac. It is very powerful. The manual says to wear goggles while using the blower and I can see why, it's so powerful that even on my first use I could easily see debris flying up into one's eye. You do not want to aim this blower at a person and you also want to be sure there aren't people near when you're blowing in case a sharp object... Top to learn more

Works great! But so did the Old Style
I like the old separate foam wet filter and paper cylinder for dry pickup, simply because cleanup of the foam filter was so easy and you could get all the gunk out of it. I have used my shop-vac to empty a small manmade water feature with a pond in the backyard. The seaweed groaties washed out of the old foam wet pick up filter completely.With the new materials being used for filters on various equipment, the new multitask (wet/dry) filter is alot more durable but still harder to clean than the simple foam filter.There is also the extra expense. This type filter costs more initially.Oh well, the cost of progress, I guess.All in All, I still think Shop-Vac makes the best shop / wet-dry / worksite vacuum on the market.John Row Top to learn more

This filter does what it's supposed to do. It's easy to install and is a convenient and effective alternative to using separate filters for wet and dry jobs. While I've heard some complaints that the old wet filters were easier to clean, I haven't found this to be an issue.
Make sure this cartridge will fit your particular Shop-Vac model. According to the manufacturer, it does not fit the following models: 1x1, BullDog Portable, Mighty Mini, Hippo, Hang Up Vacs or AllAround Series.--Josh Dettweiler
No more dog smell
Finally replaced the original filter that came with my 5 gal Shop Vac with this dry/wet cartridge filter and wondered why I waited so long to do it. I used my Shop Vac to vacuum the fur my German Shepards left behind in the garage and it use to smell like a dirty dog everytime I turned it on. Good Filter, but wish it lasted longer
Like most homeowners I do a variety of jobs around the house that require various tools. My wet/dry vac is one of the most important tools to me (or more importantly my wife) as it helps me clean up all the messes I make when doing these jobs. This filter does a great job when it is new as it keeps all the dirt/sawdust/leaves/etc I pick up with it in the container. However, after using it sporadically over a few months the filter gets clogged with all these various things, especially if there is any moisture. When I try and clean it out it works ok but not great as it just continues to get clogged. Overall it does what it is supposed to I just don't like replacing the filter every few months....
