A Real Game-Changer
I received this projector for Christmas and I am utterly blown away. The disclaimer is that I have long been a fan of projectors and we have the excellent Panasonic PT-AE700U, a spectacular home projector which was incredibly well-received when it debuted a few years back. That said, I did not expect anything too remarkable from something 1/4 the price of my home projector and 1/20th the size... but, boy was I wrong!A few things about this unit:First, it's about the size of an iPhone and that includes the battery. This is absolutely incredible and showing it to people, they say: "Where's the rest of it?!"Second, unlike my home theater projector, this uses laser technology so it is always in perfect focus. Let me repeat that: IT IS ALWAYS IN PERFECT FOCUS. This is mind-numbingly cool and is a game-changer in and of itself! Focus is one of those things that you fiddle with almost every time you start the projector, but here it is always...

Bring the movie theater to your hotel room!
I honestly did not even know something like this existed until a few days ago, and I couldn't be happier that I found it. I travel frequently, so I was hoping I could use this to play Netflix or iTunes movies on my hotel room wall, and it far exceeded my expectations. Keep in mind that if you are buying this projector for your iPhone/iPad/iPod, it comes with the adapter cable, so you don't need to buy one. This thing is ready to go out of the box.Pros:-Much brighter than I expected! In a fully lit room, as you could expect, the largest quality image you can project is about 4 feet diagonal. But as soon as you dim the lights, you can easily get a nice 8 foot image, and in a completely dark room I still got pretty good picture at a 10 foot image size!-VERY easy to use, truly a plug-and-play device. As soon as it gets video information from your source device, it displays it.-Lasers last much longer than conventional light sources, so you...

Awesome for what it is.
My review is based on the product and not on a comparison to other more powerful projectors. I will add a little about that in the end of the review.I really like this little projector. When I received it, I connected it to everything I had with a picture output including my iphone, blu ray disc player (I needed an HDMI to micro HDMI adapter that I found here on Amazon.com for this to work), computer, and camcorder. My movie choice for picture quality was the "5th Element." I tried it projected onto a wall from 4 feet away and onto a 120" projector screen in my livingroom from 13 feet away. At 4 feet, the colors are bright and the picture is good with the lights out in the room only leaving ambient light. At 13 feet, it needed to be real dark and the colors seemed a little washed out but the picture was smooth. The battery lasted about 90 minutes and then it needed to be plugged in (when plugged in and on, it doesn't charge the battery but allows you to use it)...

Minor Miracle
The projector comes with an iPod cable, AC adapter, rechargeable battery, USB power cord so you can charge it from PC, HDMI video cable so it can be used with other devices besides iPods, wrist strap, soft storage bag to protect the projector along with a Quick start and product information guide. I tested the device with a VGA cable that is not included with the projector but worth the extra cost if you plan to use a PC with a VGA output and no HDMI.Set-up is easy. First, insert the battery and then charge it either by using the AC adapter or plug it into a PC by using the USB power cable. An orange light indicates it is charging, green light indicates fully charged - guide says allow a minimum of four hours for first initial charging. And, note, that the battery does not charge if the device is in use - like playing a movie.I loaded some customer images to show my experience with the projector. Of these photos, the sharpest picture is one reflected at...

Great projector holder
I bought the Microvision PICOP projector and was basically forced to buy this holder so I could hook it to the computer. This holder is great and really makes the projector much more user friendly, mounted on a tripod. It is a metal holder and seems very durable and well built. It works to hold the projector for whatever device you're hooking it into, not just the computer. Thumbs up. No regrets buying it.

Excellent built mount but limited unless modified
I bought this mount for my Microvision Showwx projector and think it is very well built. The only issue I didn't like is that you can only use it attached to a computer. Because it has a Tripod hole, this mount would be excellent to use everytime you use the ShowWx but you cannot because of the VGA Cable. Unless, you modify it. There are special screws that hold the mount together. If you flip over the mount you will see 4 screw holes near the rear of the mount. Two on the mount itself and two on the portion where the plug attaches. These screw are used to hold on the plastic cover where the plug attaches. If you get a small flathead screw driver (for eyeglass repair) it will work at loosening these 4 screws. I saved the screws and put them in the box. With the screws removed, flip the mount right side up and remove the silver plastic cover near where the plug attaches. You should be able to pop out the VGA cable connector and pop in any of the other cables that came with...

mod with iphone cable
I purchased this dock thinking I could modify it, but the screws on the back of it are not flathead holes. they are these tiny tiny double dots. my 1.4mm flathead won't fit into it. Now I'm out of the cost of the dock and I can't jimmy it to put in my ipad cable (which doesn't always work). What did you use to unscrew the back of yours? I will try to upload an image.ok. I got my husband to look at it... and of course he figured it out. he used #00 philips head and had no problems removing the screws. we were able to change out the cable without a problem. let's hope this secure fitting will make it work.

Amazing New Technology on Display
I received my ShowWx Laser Pico Projector from Device Plus in Madrid, Spain about a month ago. I had to get it there because it was not for sale yet in the U.S. It is an absolutely mind-blowing projector that easily hooks up to a myriad of devices, including iPods, iPhones, digital cameras (with video out function), and laptops (with the optional VGA Dock). It is very small and lightweight - truly pocket-sized - and can project video and pictures with stunning clarity and color.Because it is a laser device, there is never any need to focus the display. You can project on uneven surfaces, around corners, on ceilings or clothing or a sandy beach at night. The size of the image depends upon the distance between the projector and the surface it is projecting on - in a demo I did on YouTube, I projected onto a white wall in a dark room from a distance of 8 feet, and the diagonal size of the projection was 8 feet - in other words, the equivalent of a 96-inch screen! Even at...

goodbye led-based pico projectors
I often wonder what could be cooler than than "lasers"...So when I heard of a laser-powered pocketable projector, I was willing to try it at any cost.Despite not putting the product through a more than 1 day test, I can say that this projector is FAR superior than anything LED based. The contrast ratio is said to be "greater than 5000:1" and although I don't have a viable way to check, it seems much higher than that of my LED-based pico projector which states "1000:1."BRIGHTNESS: The light output is said to be ~ 10 lumens, about the same as the LED-based projectors. HOWEVER, in practice this laser projector seems way brighter. my educated guess is that maybe laser-based light sources do not disperse as much of the light to waste while traveling to the surface projected on.Overall I'm very happy. I'll try to take some decent photos and/or videos and post them here.P.S. This projector can readily connect to any TV-out or VGA source (such...

Microvision ShowWX Laser vs.Optoma PK301 Pico Pocket
took a lot of time trying to decide which one is better.. ended up buying both .. ya i know..ShowWX..Brightness: 4/5, Color 5/5, picture quality 2/5PK301..Brightness: 3/5, Color 4/5, picture quality 5/5------what i liked most about the ShowWX: smaller size, can recharge from USB, better battery life, no focus requiredwhat i didnt like: no flash memory (can only play off of a source), no VGA, need to buy the add-on which takes away the size advantage, is not good for reading text (blurry, just not clear, and gave me a headache just to look at it)------what i like most about PK301: VGA out of the box, has built in memory and can take up to 8GB of memory (maybe more), monitor like text quality, you can easily use this as a PC monitor, read clear text, and way better to watch movies.what i didnt like about it: the buttons.. will need to move the projector every time you need to press a button-----...

very handy
This is my first tripod and I'm not a very experienced photographer. I've used it on a Canon PowerShot and I wouldn't recommend it for large cameras. It's been a great addition to my camera and really improves the quality of my shots and the value of the camera itself. There are many similar products. I got this one even though it was more expensive than others on Amazon because I could get free shipping. If you're very worried about camera shake, use the tripod with the self-timer feature. I also like using the tripod to hold my small camera in my hands. Also putting my the camera in continuous shooting mode while on my dashboard during a drive produced some nice shots. The tripod is a nice addition to a camera and its so cheap it's not worth thinking about too long. I doubt there are many differences between brands so just find the best deal.

Good for what it is.
Legs are "bendy" which makes leg use more flexible. Short height makes you adjust legs more than normal to accomodate weight imbalance of camera. If camera tripod hole was in center of camera, would be no problem. But short height makes camera not as stable. Would recommend a longer tripod.

Wow Certainly worth the wait!
I had pre-ordered this projector for almost a month before it was shipped, which gave me time to contemplate my purchase decision. I went around to the shops and checked the PK 201, 102 models and other brands like the 3M pico projector and the Samsung palm sized LED projector. Especially that I have a full size DLP HD projector that i bough last year. The inconvenience of having to setup the screen and the speakers in the garden to watch a nice cinematic experience on giant screen reduced these occasions to just a handful through a year. I had high hopes for the portable battery operated projector but I was aware of the fact that its power was low and can only be used in dimmed rooms. It finally arrived, and much to my surprise it beat my expectations just out of the box. it looks and feels better than any of the other ones i have examined first hand. The casing is sturdy and compact although the zoom swivel looks fragile. The picture quality is very good and...

Suprising performance in such a tiny package
I use this projector for video and image files. In my opinion, it is best suited for impromptu displays for groups of 5 people or less. I always load all my materials on a 16GB class 6 Micro SD card which I leave plugged into the projector. I seldom use it connected to my linux gear, tho it works fine with all my 'nix machines including my Nokia N900. It's great for quickly displaying something on a white board in someone's cubicle. You don't need a lot of complicated equipment and a laptop because everything is thoughtfully self-contained.Although software does come with the projector for converting PowerPoint presentations to a portable format that can be loaded to an SD card (as well as converting videos), I don't use that software because it's for windows and I'm not a windows user. The PK301 is larger than my 3M Pro120 with greater resolution and a significantly brighter/sharper picture. I don't notice any of the rainbow effects that are sometimes a...

Excellent projector for what it does.
I bought this to replace the TV in my bedroom that was moved to my living room (a 42") when my living room Toshiba 52" LCD (14 months old-don't buy a Toshiba flat panel TV) died. I originally bought the PK-201. My complaint with that and the reason I returned it was that the focus had issues. It always seemed like one side was focused and the other corner wasn't. Well, the PK-301 exceeded my expectations. The picture is huge. It claims it will go to 120", but I am about 100" with my throw. Not sure what the max throw is. I didn't see that spec. I am using it in my bedroom (yes I said bedroom) and it is projecting on my wall. I have Dish Network plugged in with the Mini-HDMI input (cable was not included). Picture quality is amazing, especially considering I am using my bedroom white wall as the screen! The focus works much better and is easier to dial in than the 201, as it has a nice ring on the lens. I didn't have to adjust the color as it looks great. I only have 2 complaints and...
