There are two secrets to know before you buy a stylus...
The first secret to all "modern" touchscreens is in how you address the stylus. What? You mean I have to say "Pretty please to it?". No, but understand that due to the non-durable nature of the capacitive touchscreen (iPad, smartphones, etc.) the tip has to be soft. Treat the stylus like a small, soft-tipped paint brush and stroke the screen versus pushing down to try to write. If someone is complaining that the tip is collapsing or they tore the tip off quickly, they are trying to write with the stylus versus stroking the screen. Try this now. Look at your hand holding a pen. Now hold the pen with the back pointing to your left or right as you would when you stroke paint brush so you can see what you are painting. That is the secret in addressing the stylus. The second secret is not obvious until you purchase a stylus and then it is too late. Let my mistakes with previous purchases benefit you as no stylus maker will tell you this, BUT this Cosmos stylus has the...

These work great.
I bought a stylus at Best Buy for $15.00 when I bought my IPAD a year ago. It worked fine. I bought these three for $6.00 and they work even better.

Product Description

A writer whose wife has been missing for eight months encounters a familiar old woman with an odd request -- a request that will introduce him to a surprising evil.

Spooky Nook is a 10,000-word "prequel of sorts" to The Calling, a supernatural thriller by Robert Swartwood. The prologue and first three chapters of The Calling are included in this e-book.

Praise for The Calling:

"The Calling is a powerful, gripping and terrifying novel, the sort that possesses your whole life while you're reading it; it'll stalk you through the day, and inform your dreams. Swartwood has delivered a novel that will become a classic."

-- Tim Lebbon, author of Echo City

"Robert Swartwood's The Calling is a diabolical rocket sled of a psychological thriller. Told through the vivid, almost druggy point of view of a young man on the edge, tangled in a web of tragedy and surreal horror, Swartwood's novel gets under the skin and stays there. Highly recommended."

-- Jay Bonansinga, co-author of The Walking Dead: Rise of The Governor

"This novel is small town horror at its best."

-- Hellnotes

About the Author

Robert Swartwood's work has appeared in The Los Angeles Review, The Daily Beast, ChiZine, Postscripts, Space and Time, and PANK. He is the author of several novels and the editor of Hint Fiction: An Anthology of Stories in 25 Words or Fewer. Top to learn more

Prequel to The Calling
Although a prequel, this is very much a stand-alone novella. It is tightly written and does not leave the reader hanging. The rest of the digital space is filled with the beginning of The Calling. As far as Spooky Nook goes, it was a fun read. Not spooky or scary as the title would lead you to believe. Simply some paranormal happenings. Fast, fun read.

Buy the correct stylus
This review has stirred interest beyond the value of said stylus. These are inexpensive, ok, cheap, stylus. I bought them to test on a cheap tablet I was testing and they worked very good. If they are lost, stolen or eaten by Fido, who cares. We are talking about bang for the buck here. And yes, they are made across the big pond.If you need status, spend the big bucks, but don't cry if it goes missing. It could be hiding next to that missing $200.00 remote.Better yet, make one yourself, it's a fun and interesting project. Brings out that MacGyver rush from the 80's.There are three (3) types of touch screens, buy the correct stylus for your...

Great for pointing, not for drawing
These stylus are very well made and work very well, if all you want to do is find an alternative to pressing the onscreen keyboard. However, these stylus are totally useless for use with a drawing program because the rubber tip will not glide across the screen. If you use your iPhone outdoors and you are wearing gloves, these stylus are for you. If you want to draw, then you'd be better off with a stylus with a soft foam tip.

This Sandisk 'class-4' micro-SDHC card is faster than a PNY 'class-10'
I purchased a nearly two months ago, for use in my . At the same time, I also purchased a higher-priced which is supposed to be a 'class-10'. My benchmark results, however, show that the Sandisk class-4 card is actually faster - most of the time.I used two sets of benchmark programs. One is called 'Flash Memory Toolkit v2.0', which measures the random read/write speed of files between 1MB and 15MB. The other one is...

No Problems, Works as Advertised, and Came With a MicroSD Card Adapter!
So I read some of the reviews about this microSD card and I wanted to chip in my experiences.I purchased mine from Amazon.com via the vendor "MemoryMogul." It arrived at my porch in a small envelope package and did not have any of the bulk packaging that one would find from a retail store. Inside this envelope was just a small plastic case holding the microSDHC card as well as a SanDisk microSD card adapter. This was surprising to me since it wasn't advertised that this microSD card would come with an adapter. I guess that's good in my case since I was going to purchase a separate adapter. The package did not come with an instruction manual, or any SanDisk packaging for that matter. [Please see the customer image I uploaded]Apart from the unexpected package and its contents, everything about the microSD card works as advertised:1. My Macbook and Dell laptops both recognized that 31.90 GB of space are available to use in my card. Some people have reported...

A great thing to have!
This cover was just what I needed. As a teenager, the only money I get is from babysitting and therefore can't afford a fifty dollar cover for my nook color.I wanted something cheap but sturdy enough it could survive going through highschool. There is slight padding and the magnet is strong enough to resist a lot of motion. It's worth it!

Customer Review

Tried them all and now I found it!
I've read e-books on just about every device out there, while looking for the perfect mix of features to support them. I've gone from an ancient Palm III to all the Kindles and other readers that are out there. First, I must say my favorite way to read a book is via the treeware version - you just can't replace books. What you can do though is supplement them with a device that adds something to the experience that makes a device worth buying. For me, my new perfect device is the NookColor.I will cut to the chase and answer the question people are most curious about. How does it stack up verus e-ink? Well, as a user of many e-ink devices, I know all about how such devices as Kindle eliminate eye-strain. This was my first worry with the NookColor. As it turns out, their is a color/font adjuster that you can change how the books looks until you find something that is pleasing and non-straining to your particular eyes. While I won't be able to read for five hours...

Superior ebook reader/tab hybrid
I'm somewhat of a techno geek. I like new gadgets and i tend to ask myself how will this be developed over time. In the case of the nook color they got it right. The size is very good for those used to reading paper backs on the go or in bed just before sleeping. The LCD eye burn has yet to effect me even though I've already put in 6 straight hour of reading ( note: i do keep the back-light level very low ). It is fairly responsive to user inputs. Once you learn how to navigate around it seems intuitive. The magazine format is a welcomed feature. The reduced battery life over my nook classic will not be an issue. It has lasted 2 days so far with wifi off with the same use pattern I've had since i got the nook classic (it will need a charge soon though). Youtube videos work without problems but, hulu is non functional at this point although I'm sure future updates will fix that problem. The form factor of the nook color is the 2ND best of any e-reader i have held ( the nook classic...

Just what I've been waiting for!!
Last year my husband asked me if I wanted a Kindle, because I love to read all the time and I try to be eco-friendly when possible. I was intrigued, but my biggest weakness is magazines and I didn't like the availability or look of them on the Kindle. When the iPad came out, I was blown away by the beauty of it, but felt like for a few dollars more I could just get a whole new laptop and it would be almost the same size. For travel, the iPad seemed to big and fragile for me; I need to be able to jam all my toys into my backpack and not worry about them. When I stumbled onto the Nook Color, I absolutely flipped my wig and couldn't wait to get one! Full color magazines, that look just like they do on the newsstand! This could single-handedly save the rain forests - I seriously buy a LOT of magazines. I also save them forever because you never know when you might want that one article or photo again, which drives my husband crazy. So perhaps the Nook Color can save my...

BUY Barnes & Noble NOOK Color eBook

Buy a Nook

Users could take their Nook into a Barnes & Noble store and wave it near a print book to get info on it or buy it. That could help someone gain quick information on their Nook about a book, making it easy to go from browsing to buying.  And if you had your Nook, you can walk up to any of our pictures, any our aisles, any of our bestseller lists, and just touch the book, and get information on that physical book on your Nook and have some frictionless purchase experience. On the heels of yesterday’s news that Microsoft is investing $300 million in Barnes & Noble’s Nook and college businesses, B&N CEO William Lynch says that the company plans to embed NFC (near field communication) chips into Nooks. Consumers could also choose to just buy a printed book in the store with the additional information gleaned from the Nook.

I related that experience, and my initial impressions, in The Tablet and Me: The Nook Tablet. Consequently, I cannot compare the Nook Tablet to either of those devices. By Rich Adin . A couple of weeks ago, my wife bought me a Nook Tablet. This is simply about my experience with the Nook Tablet. Overall, the control of the reading experience is much greater on the Tablet than on the 950 and the more I use the features of the Tablet, the more I am inclined for it to be my primary reading device. Third, although both the 950 and the Tablet use touchscreen technology, the Tablet’s screen, when the device is off, really shows fingerprints (you don’t notice them when using the device). First, contrary to my original thought that I would not like to read on a LCD screen after spending all day reading on LCD monitors, I actually do like reading on the Tablet. Being an Android tablet, the Tablet also offers the kinds of features that would be found on more advanced tablets. Unlike the Sonys, the Tablet is an LCD screen, which means that it will be troublesome to read in sunlight and one does get some glare on the screen. At first I thought I would find the weight annoying, but with use, I have found that I no longer notice it — unless I pick up my 950 between sessions with the Tablet. The Tablet also gives me two other reading enhancements: the ability to select how the book should appear (e. g. , narrow, wide, or very wide margins. Second, the Tablet weighs significantly more than the 950, although both are of the same 7-inch screen size. Now that I have used the Tablet for a couple of weeks, I thought I would update my experience.

All customers who buy a Nook in those participating stores between March 10 and March 20 “will receive an invitation for early VIP access” to the store’s Hunger Games parties, which are all taking place March 21. Customers who buy a Nook in one of those stores on March 10 will receive two free tickets to advance Hunger Games screenings, which take place March 19 in NYC and LA and March 21 in the other cities. Anyone who buys a Nook now in any Barnes Noble store from today through April 15 will receive one free Hunger Games Nook book. The offers are available in 26 Barnes Noble stores across the country, mostly upscale mall and shopping center stores (and, in NYC, the Barnes Noble in Tribeca).

Just a day after Microsoft announced a $300 million dollar investment in Barnes & Noble’s Nook e-reader, Barnes & Noble chief executive William Lynch announced plans to implement near field communication (NFC) hardware into future versions of the... By adding NFC chips into the next generation of Nooks, consumers will be able to take the new Nook into any Barnes & Noble retail location and simply scan any print version of a book to bring up a synopsis as well as customer and editorial reviews. And if you had your Nook, you can walk up to any of our pictures, any our aisles, any of our bestseller lists, and just touch the book, and get information on that physical book on your Nook and have some frictionless purchase experience. Regarding sales of current Nook models, Lynch mentioned that the most popular selling model is the Nook Color. According to Lynch, consumers that purchase the Nook continue to buy physical copies of books at Barnes & Noble retail locations. Regarding the potential, Lynch stated “ We haven’t announced anything specifically, but imagine an integration where an information worker, student, author, consumer, creates something in Office and has it immediately published for sale through...
